Bruises, love and lies

Chapter 6: About last night.

I wake up and take a quick glance at my phone, 10 am.

I'm craving more sleep but realize that I need to cover my bruises again before Lili wakes up.
I slide out of the comfortable bed and walk to the bathroom with my little black make-up bag.
After taking a quick hot calming shower and covering up my bruises I walk out to find Lili waking up.

"Good morning sleepyhead." I say smiling at Lili.

"Goodm- ouch. Fuck, my head. Fucking hangovers." She complains with a pained expression on her face.

We walk downstairs for breakfast to find a note from Lili's mother.

I'm off to work, there is pancake mix in the cupboard.
XO, Mom.

"Well that's a surprise, my mother is gone, again." Lili sighs.

I feel bad for Lili, her mother is never home.
She isn't bothered by Lili coming home drunk or Lili not being home for a few days. She doesn't really care.

"Let's make some delicious pancakes, I bet I can make them tastier than you!" I say smiling at lili, hoping to cheer her up.

A small smirk forms on her face, "Oh it's on."

I'm lying on the couch, rubbing my belly. I must be 6 months pregnant with my food baby.
Lili won our little bet, her pancakes tasted amazing, I should know, I ate 3 of them.

Lili grabs my phone and holds it to take a picture when her arm drops down again as she gives me a smirk.

"Why are you meeting with Alex at 2 pm?" she questions me with her hand placed on her hip, her smirk growing wider.

Alex, 2 pm, shit, I forgot about that.

"I wanna thank him and say sorry for yesterday, what time is it?"

"It's 1 pm, what did he do, what did you do?"

"1 pm! Shit, I'll tell you everything later, I've got to go get ready now."

"Wait, wait, wait, I wanna help you. You need to look good for you future husband." Lili says clapping and cheering.

I roll my eyes at her, "Oh shut up. You can help me, only because I'm late."

We slant upstairs and begin the "make over".
Lili applies my make up and curls my hair, she picks out some cute jeans and a crop top.

"Lili, please don't let me wear a crop top, I feel so uncomfortable in them.

"Lia please, just this once. This one isn't even that bad." Lili says holding up the cute white crop top.

"Ugh, fine. Only for you." I say giving her a wink.

After we're finally done with everything take a glance at my phone, 1:55 pm.

I grab my yellow coat and run to the front door.

"Run Lia, have fun with your future husband, but not too much fun." Lili shouts after me, waving with her hand.

I slam the door shut and bolting it to the ice cram parlor, good thing it's 3 minutes from Lili's house.

I yank open the door, panting from the running, I really need to start working out more. I glance around and spot pretty boy at a table in the corner.

"Hey sunshine, you look... beautiful." he greets me while his eyes scan my entire body.

"Hey pretty boy." I say immediately realizing my mistake of saying the nickname I made up for him out loud.

"So you do admit you find me attractive."

"N-no, it's just.. because you think you're so hot."

"Sure sure, why did you want to meet up? Finally decided that you just can't resist me?"

"Very funny, but no. I just.. I want to thank you, you know, from yesterday. And uh, I didn't really mean what I said. So, yeah, sorry."

"It's okay, I'm.. kind of sorry too. I was just too angry about that guy almost raping you."

"Why?"

"What?"

"You heard me, why? Why were you angry about it, it's not like you care about me."

"How do you know that?" Alex says getting closer to my face.

"I'm done, I just came here to apologize and not to have a fight with you. I'm sorry for yesterday, bye." I say grabbing my jacket ready to go when Alex grabs my wrist.

"No please, stay." he says with his big emerald eyes focusing on me.

"I-I, why should I?"

"Because.. well.. because, I don't know. Just stay."

I sigh, well it's better than going to my abusive father.

"Fine." I say sitting down again when the ice cream parlor door swings open.

"Oh no." I think out loud.
