Samantha walked into school with a book tucked under her arms and her head down. She walked to her locker as quickly and safely as possible. Unloading her bag into her locker, she grabbed the few things she would need for her next classes.

"Hey Sammy," said a voice next to her. She turned her head to see her only friend.

"Hey MJ," Samantha whispered back to the tall curly haired girl.

Their conversations in school were short, mostly because Samantha felt uncomfortable talking around the people in the school. The other students scared her. After both girls were ready for class, they made eye contact and began their descent down the hall together.

"Peter's still gone at his Stark internship," Ned shared with the girls. Ned talked to them on a regular basis, even though neither of the girls responded that often.

MJ rolled her eyes at the topic falling on Parker. That kid was lost in the clouds in her opinion. The girls fell into their seats behind Ned and Parker's empty chair.

Samantha was more nervous today than usual. Her uncle had briefly told her what had been going on with Tony Stark and their plan and she hoped it followed through. Mostly because she couldn't wait to see her uncle again.

The day went by quickly. She listened into Ned's and MJ's discussions but only added in when she felt absolutely necessary.

The three stayed behind for a decathlon meeting and found the rest of the team huddled around a television. They walked over to see what was going on and saw that Scarlet Witch, Falcon, Ant-Man, and Hawk-eye had all been imprisoned for their assistance in allowing Captain America and the Winter Soldier to escape. Samantha lost her breath and became lightheaded at the news, she gripped onto MJ's arm, who was the only person who knew Sam was her uncle. MJ caught Samantha and began leading her out of the room without anyone else noticing.

"Hey Sammy, look at me," MJ ordered in an empty classroom. "It's okay. He's going to be okay. You said he was fighting with Iron Man, Stark is your uncle's friend. This whole thing will clear over. Don't worry, okay?"

"Yeah," Samantha whispered, nodding along. She hoped MJ was right.

MJ pulled out Samantha's phone and called her brother.

"Hey Jody, it's MJ. Did you see the news? Yeah Sammy isn't taking it well. Come pick her up outside school, okay? Okay, see you soon."

MJ grabbed Samantha's arms and lead her outside. "It'll be okay, Sammy. I promise."

Those words caused Samantha's throat to tighten in recognition, but she made no outward sign. She collapsed into her brother's car when he arrived and the rest of the night was a blur. She laid in bed starring at the ceiling, she could hear her brother and mom talking about her and her uncle, but the words did not register in her mind.

She was in shock.

Samantha had been excused from school for the rest of the week, not that it mattered because she didn't need to sit in class to ace her test. Her family allowed her to be bed ridden so she could get her morale up and they allowed her to take the time she needed.

For the majority of the week, Samantha had cried so much that she slept from exhaustion, but this night her tears had run dry. She lay awake starring at her dark room. Her chest was tight with worry and possibilities floating around. She hated the lack of contact with her uncle because it prevented her from getting a gut decision about what the outcome of everything would be.

Throwing off her blankets, Samantha slid sweat pants and a cute pull over sweater on before making her way to the door.

The door creaked on it's hinges quietly. Opening it slowly, kept the creaking from being too loud and waking anyone else up.

The walk into the New York night began. Samantha knew the dodgy areas of Queens and normally would feel confident in her intuition to decide which streets to take. Today, however, she was distracted and made a turn into a neighborhood that she normally would not make.

It was too late to react when Samantha had finally noticed the group of two men following behind her and another approaching from the side.

"Hey, little lady. Where you heading to?" asked one of the men.

Samantha tensed, her body warning her of the immediate danger. She mentally cursed herself for not listening to her bodies warning sign earlier.

"Hey, girl, my buddy was talking to you," snarled the one on the side.

Her mind had cleared on the walk and in the face of danger to where she pulled away before the man behind her reached for her arm. His hand grasped at air as Samantha had already navigated her body out of his path of reach.

This led the man next to her to attempt his grab, but she easily pushed his hand away and avoided his clenching fingers. This repetition went on for a while and to an outsider would appear to be orchestrated as if Samantha knew exactly what the men would do before hand. The men's attacks and swings increased in pace and began confusing her. A fist knocked into the side of her head, causing her to became confused and unbalanced.

The men took advantage of her first sign of weakness and pushed her to the ground, where her field of escape was drastically limited.

"You little b*tch," one of the men hissed, irritated with the game they felt she played. "You deserve this."

Suddenly, there were three pairs of hands grasping at her skin and clothing, one hand even repeatedly pulled her hair. Samantha started crying out, seeing the events that were about to befall upon her, but physically not believing she had a way out.

A figure in blue and red dropped down behind the men and Samantha relaxed as the images in her mind changed to much happier and hopeful thoughts.

"Get off her," Spider-man ordered, pushing one of the men away from her. The other swung and when Spider-man caught his fist, the other two men attacked together. The fight did not last long as the three men were easily over powered y New York's young hero.

Spider-man knocked the men out and webbed the victim's up. He walked over to Samantha who was on her knees trying to unstably stand. He offered her his hand and when she looked up at the masked figure a friendly memorable face appeared in her mind.

Even though the situation was dark, Samantha couldn't resist smirking at the information she now knew.

"Thank you, Spider-man," Samantha said softly holding in a small giggle.

"Let's get you home," he said, wrapping an arm around her waist before asking where she lived.

She gave her reply, but couldn't hold in her small laughter since she knew that he lived in the same building as her.

He gently placed her on her feet outside the apartment building. Samantha turned to face him and gave a little wave. "I'll see you at school," she said.

Spider-man agreed before swinging away. The poor hero never realized that he had confirmed his identity with his agreement.

Samantha turned to the door and reentered her apartment where she quickly fell asleep.
