Quick A/N: This part will be more of a 3rd Person all knowing, I'm still struggling with keeping to POV so I apologize in advance

It's at this point Dan realized he extremely screwed up. The weeks went by, they grew closer, their quote 'friendly relationship' growing into a romantic one. He doesn't know what he's gonna do, still not coming up with an idea on how to tell Phil. He also has had a lot of free time to think, considering he really didn't feel like showing up for school. His phone pings and he looks at the text from Phil.

Phil ❤️🌸: Dan why aren't you at school today?

He sits thinking of a response besides, 'I'm frustrated because I'm emotionally close to you now, and I don't wanna break your heart'

Dan🖤🔆: Didn't feel well, so I stayed home , why?

Phil❤️🌸: Just wondering, and I aced the test thanks for the help

Dan🖤🔆: No problem, did you want to come over and watch movies or something?

Phil❤️🌸: I mean, sure? Could you maybe pick me up, I really can't walk to your house it's a far walk.

Dan🖤🔆: Sure, now get back to class you have 15 minutes left till I pick you up ;)

Phil❤️🌸: A: I have free time and B: Never use the winking face again please and thank you.

   Dan🖤🔆: It's a free country Pastel Boy

   Phil❤️🌸: Ughh I hate you

Dan🖤🔆: You love me, now go learn facts.

Phil❤️🌸: Like I said. It's free time. We have a sub today who doesn't care

Dan🖤🔆: Ugh fine okay.

  Phil❤️🌸:I feel loved, thanks

Dan🖤🔆: No problem Phil, I'm good for something I'll ttyl

Laughing slightly at the conversation they had, he puts his phone in his pocket, and begins his daily search for his keys. It's not that he was messy, it's just he literally can never find his keys. Ever. After 10 minutes of struggling to find his car keys, he finds them sitting in the storage bin, and wait for it. Where he is supposed to put his keys.

Mentally punching himself, he walks outside and starts his car, starting the drive to get Phil. A pit of anxiety hits his stomach for some unexplained reason, that he really can't ignore. He nervously tongues his lip ring, in hopes he could ignore the sinking pit of anxiety in his stomach, but it won't go.

The reason why he has the anxiety, is surely answered as he pulls up to school. With Phil nowhere to be seen, and the biggest punk of the school, who if it wasn't for Dan, would be the worst one, walking out of the doorway. His eyes are filled with hatred, and his fists are cut with blood, causing Dan to make a quick connection. Parking his car quickly, he sprints out of the drivers seat, and whips open the school door, nearly causing it to snap off its hinges.

"Phil?" He calls out, into the empty hallway, void of any humans. Surveying the area, he realizes that Phil's bound to be in one of the bathrooms. Jogging quickly, he reaches the bathroom nearest to his location, and runs into it. His heart nearly stops when he looks at the scene in front of him. It's Phil, that's for sure. His face is hidden from view, as it's slumped on his shoulder. His usual flower crown stomped on, and irreparable. Pink converse, scuffed up worse then before, his light pink shirt torn, with some blood in parts.

His usual neat fringe, in a greasy, spiked mess, the gash on his cheek oozing blood from the opening. The usually perky, raven-haired boy, has been reduced to an unconscious, vulnerable state. What really grabs Dan's attention though, is Phil's arm. Turned over, but blood around it. He moves it slightly, and all the life feels like it's been drained out of Dan. On Phil's arm, the skin puffy and swollen, is the word, blood still coming from it, but its unmistakable. Faggot.

Phil's in anything but a good state, and is in need of stitches. Big time. Dan's fingers shake as he tries to type in the 3 digits, praying they get there fast. Everything seems like he's underwater, so surreal. His words come out as choked sobs as he showers the unconscious boy in apologies, ranging from not being in school, to the fact he didn't text him till the end of class. It somehow seemed like it was his fault, when in reality, he really couldn't have prevented it.

The EMT's arrive, the scene in front of them being an emotionally damaging on really. A sobbing boy, over the other who's bound to be emotionally and physically ruined in the end. Which is most likely why they allowed Dan to ride in the ambulance, refusing to speak, tears down his face. Nobody asks him questions, they are scared too, in the fear that he may break at the second. So when they arrive at the hospital, Dan is shoved into a waiting room, where he paces as they attempt to help the pastel boy.

When he is allowed to see Phil, however, it shatters his heart into little pieces. His arm had to be stitched, so there is a bandage over that, not to mention the bruises and gashes that go across his face. The raven haired boy who is slowly waking up.Which Dan is thankful for, it gives him time to think, but on the down side, he wants to talk to Phil.

Dan sits in the room, listening to the beeping of the machines, ensuring that the pastel boy is in fact however alive and well. It's hard really, seeing someone you truly care about reduced to nothing, which is the tragedy that happened to Phil.

All the words he wants to say, swarm his head, but when he's met with the blue eyes, that are now a dull blue, mixed with sadness, the words disappear. It's like somebody just stole them from him, never to be seen again. "Dan?" Phil croaks out, his voice husky and laced with sleep. The punk gets up from his position across the room, to sit in the chair beside Phil's bed. The fact that Dan is even there is enough to make Phil break into tears.

Considering that nobody has cared about him like that (besides Louise on occasion), it came as a shock. So many words swarm both of their minds, each one too afraid to say the simple words, that could probably help them both. So the loving gaze is shared between them, subconsciously sharing the feelings that neither are aware of. Phil moves slightly to the edge where the guard rail is, giving Dan space to sit with him. Thankfully Dan gets the message however when he sits with Phil, the punk carefully pulling the pastel boy to his chest.

It's not like Dan can't feel Phil's shaking body, or the tears streaming down his face. He doesn't know what to say exactly, given the words he wants to say, he's never said in over two years. It's almost like it's burning him, from the inside out, and emotionally it is. So when the punk's tongue slips, it's not surprising when the quiet, but powerful words in the silent room are uttered.

"I'm in love with you, Phil Lester."
