Chapter Six

Lucy had knocked Percy out swiftly and ordered two of her hounds to bring him to her office. The demon's around her bowed and kept out of her way. The souls looked rather confused and taken aback by her burst of violence. Punching someone in the head in a very calm manner probably wasn't seen too often.

Lucy was writhing inside, as always, but her fire was closer to bursting than usual. Percy made her angry, and yet, she didn't want to hurt him. She was angry that she didn't want to hurt him. Well, she didn't want to kill him.

Percy came to in her office, a large and old-fashioned room that she didn't spend too much time in. The boy's eyelashes fluttered, he sat limp in the chair across from the desk. Lucy sat cross-legged on the desk, staring at him curiously.

When he finally looked up, his eye's looked straight into hers. They were brown, with green in the middle. His glasses made them a little bigger (one of the lenses was cracked in the corner, Lucy's fault). For a moment, neither of them said a thing. It was awkward, but it wasn't. Lucy hadn't felt even half awkward in at least a century. His look was too deep, too open.

"You have amazing eyes" Percy mumbles, and then looks down when he realizes he said it out loud, he mutters a few choice swear words to himself. Lucy raises her eyebrows and smirks.

"You should be dead" Lucy ignores his first comment, it was a compliment she received all the time from mortals.

Percy looks up, "then why aren't I?"

"More fun this way" She says, jumping off the desk gracefully "besides, you're little and cute, like a puppy" making random half-compliments had never made her feel so odd.

Percy gave her an uncomfortable and confused look, like he was upset he didn't get called manly. Aside from his body, he wasn't, it's a simple truth. Speaking of his body, Lucy found herself trying to see through his gray hoodie. Percy took no notice, didn't seem to care.

"Is that why I'm here? Wherever 'here' is." He said.

"I already told you, you're in hell. I wasn't joking" Lucy winked. Percy's eyes widened in shock, not at the hell part, at the wink. Lucy rolled her eyes and went around the desk to sit in the tall black chair at the head of the room.

"H-hell? Like with satan and criminals?"

"I guess that's one way of explaining it. But it ain't just for criminals, it's for all the dead. It's also called the Underworld" Lucy explained. Percy frowned as he thought.

"But that's Greek, an entirely different culture"

"No, it's all the same. You human's like to twist the truth into whatever you feel is correct" Lucy didn't know why she was having this conversation with a random boy. She was becoming angrier with herself by the minute.

"Us humans? What does that make you?" Percy gasped "Are you like that thing in the elevator?"

"What thing?"

"That tall man that could...stretch. I don't know what I saw. I think I was drugged" Percy took his glasses off and rubbed his eyes.

"Oh, Bernard. He's a low-level demon" Lucy said matter-of-factly. Percy put his glasses back on and looked at Lucy like she was mad. Or perhaps he thought he was going mad, imagining this whole thing.

Lucy watched as Percy put everything together in his mind, piecing different parts of information together. He looked at the carpet, then back up at her.

"Lucy? As in Lucifer?"

"The one and only" Lucy said, her arms opened wide, introducing herself.

Percy was silent, his eyes wide, momentarily scared. Then he shook his head.

"No, impossible" he crossed his arms and lent back, forgetting that he was in the presence of the most beautiful woman in the world and that he should be incredibly nervous. However, given that he thought Lucy was most-likely crazy, or didn't exist because he was on drugs, Percy could calm down a little.

Lucy smiled devilishly and disappeared. Yes, into thin air. She reappeared momentarily behind him and put a slender hand on his shoulder, leaning in close.

"You sure about that?" Percy could feel her excitement, she sensed his fear.

Yay! Sorry for the wait. Now we can get on to the more interesting parts;) xx
