Lucy had been given an address in Brooklyn, and she'd gone right away, ready to get this over with. She stopped at a random mall in Manhatten on her way and stole some clothes. Above her the sky was near black with storm clouds, rain drizzled down, slowly getting heavier.
The address she had been given brought her to an expensive looking home in Greenwood, the house was large, white and surrounded by other similar looking buildings and well-kept gardens. Someone was home, the lights were on behind closed but thin curtains.
Lucy had been given the address and a name, Celena Philomela, and nothing else. She scrunched the paper with the details in her hand and threw it on the passenger seat of her car and looked through her front window, rain pouring down, at the building. There was a single car, a 2008 Chevrolet Corvette. Lucy cringed, the car should be in a garage, not out in the rain. Whoever Celena was, she had a lot of money. Lucy got out of the car, she did not let the rain ruin her new clothes and diverted it so the raindrops wouldn't hit her.
She approached the house and stepped onto the polished porch and knocked. A woman answered the door, she was probably in her late-thirties She had thick, curly brown hair, dark brown eyes, tan skin and more curves than Lucy. She was beautiful, she smiled at Lucy kindly.
"Hello, can I help you?" She said, inside the house Lucy could hear laughter.
"Yeah, I'm looking for Celena Philomela," Lucy said.
"That's me" Celena laughed and opened the door wider, "Please, come inside, the kids and I were just making hot chocolate." Lucy followed her quietly, she didn't want to have to do this in front of children.
Celena didn't seem to notice that Lucy wasn't wet, or maybe she just didn't care enough to bring it up. The older woman (well, technically Lucy was much older) wore an old pair of jeans and loose tee, there was paint on her pants and bare arms. Lucy followed Celena down a hallway and into a beautiful kitchen and joint dining room. At the dining table, two boys and a girl were sipping hot chocolate and playing some board game.
"Just take a seat anywhere and I'll make you some of my famous hot chocolate...What was your name?" Celena asked.
"Lucy" She said. Celena nodded her head in approval of the name, smiling as Lucy sat at the other side of the dining table. Celena walked into the kitchen, humming, and starting to make Lucy and herself a hot chocolate.
The girl looked a lot like her mother, curly brown hair and dark eyes, she was probably around 12 years old, she looked at Lucy without expression for a moment, as if deciding if she was trustworthy, then smiled.
"You're really beautiful," The girl said.
"Thank you" Lucy replied.
"I'm Grace, these are my brother's Robert and Sam" Grace gestured to each of them as she said their names. The boys looked up from their game and waved, Robert had his mother's kind smile and dark eyes, but his hair was light, most likely like his father, he was probably 10 years old. Sam caught Lucy's attention though, he was taller than his brother but was at least two years younger, he had curly brown hair and tan skin like his mother. His eyes, however, were blue, not just any blue, but a brilliant electric blue similar to her own. When Lucy looked into the child's eyes, he did not waver or become nervous like most children did.
"Here you are, and what can I help you with?" Celena sat down to the right of Lucy and handed her a large mug of hot chocolate.
"Are you raising these kids alone?" Lucy asked, changing the subject, she wanted to know more about the father of these kids. Celena could have been suspicious at the question, but Lucy looked like an 18-year-old.
