Mya
After a week I got my stitches taken out. I went back in five days, but the doctor suggested that I leave them in a little longer because my head was healing a little slower than expected. I have a cool little scar and I'd most likely have a small patch in my head, but I got over it because you couldn't really tell. Today was the day I was going to try talking to Mya again. I decided to do it at her place and without telling Daniella because I knew she wouldn't go for it.
I'm not putting myself in danger. Mya is not dangerous. What happened was an accident and I wish Daniella would get that through her thick skull. I know she was just trying to protect me, but she doesn't get to tell me who I can and can't see.
I kept the whole thing away from my parents and they were the only people that got to tell me what to do. I listened to Ms. Fuller as well, but I convinced Dani not to tell her. It wasn't that big of a deal.
I was going to hold off on breaking up with Mya. She needed me and I wanted to be there for her. Maybe once she got help, we wouldn't even have to break up. I was willing to wait. It's hard for me to just give up on someone when I feel so strongly for them. I might regret this, but that's a risk I'm willing to take for her.
I got an Uber driver named Maurice to take me to Mya's house. The whole ride there was awkward as hell because I kept catching the guy checking me out in his rearview mirror. It wouldn't have been that bad if he didn't look old enough to be my dad. Why was his old ass an Uber driver anyway? Go start a family, sir.
When I finally got to Mya's place, I paid my driver and got the hell out of that car without looking back. I'm never using his ass again. Bye Maurice.
Mya was expecting me, so I didn't knock. I never needed to since I had a key. Mya was sitting in her living room when I arrived. I was expecting her to rush towards me and start spitting out apologies, but she looked like she was afraid to even come near me. Just like the night I got hurt.
"Hey." I offered her a smile and she gave me a weak one in return.
"Can I sit down?" I asked gesturing to the couch and she nodded her head.
"Of course." She spoke like that shouldn't have even been a question.
I joined Mya on the couch and tried to ignore the fact that she made as much distance between us as possible.
"How are you?" I asked and she frowned.
"Fuck me, how are you?" She spoke almost making me laugh, but I knew this was supposed to be serious.
"I'm fine. I got my stitches taken out a few days ago and everything has been fine. I would have come to see you sooner, but Dani's been watching me like a hawk. Luckily she had an away game today, so I got to sneak away." I smiled, but Mya didn't.
"Mya, how can you even smile at me?" She asked furrowing her eyebrows. "I hurt you."
"It was an accident." I pointed out, but Mya shook her head.
"It was an accident caused by me purposely trying to use sex to get you to stay with me. I shouldn't have been so rough with you. And it wasn't just that. I've been a terrible girlfriend to you."
