Third person's point of view.
The Winter Reaper stood in the corner of the room as a soldier dragged a bloodied and nearly frozen man into the experimentation room of their Headquarters. Not something new in the time that she was there. But something about this particular man was different, aside from the missing arm and American uniform he seemed...powerful.
Even in his weakened state, "Winter, pick him up and set him on the table." Zola ordered. Without a word or complaint, the Winter Reaper did just as she was ordered, picking up the man she set him on the table, "Now strap him down." as ordered it was done. That was most of her life taking orders and being sent on missions.
The Winter Reaper never had a choice in the matter, as the only successful Super Soldier created since Erskine's defection many years earlier, she was used mostly on the most difficult missions. Though she never experienced the Cryo sleep, she never seemed to age, "Back up." Zola order pulling Winter from her thoughts.
Standing in her corner again, she watched. While under a mask to keep the man unconscious the doctors and Zola injected him with many vials of the Super Serum along with other kinds of stuff she didn't know. Now bioengineers came in and along with Zola and other doctors they chiseled away at the last parts of the man's arm.
The man would groan in his sleep and would cry out every now and then. When they reached the shoulder blade of the man's left arm they started connecting wires and cables along with plates of some kind of metal. And after many hours they finished, she looked at the man's new arm then back to her own.
She wondered if that was how she got hers. "Winter, watch him, send for me when he wakes up." without another word she moved and stood just outside of the circle of light shining down on the man. When there was no one in the room but them, she relaxed a little. Sweat was accumulating on the man's brow.
Grabbing a clean rag and some water she reached into the light slightly and dabbed at his brow, wiping away sweat and spots of blood. Groaning and sighing painfully the man was waking up, dropping the cloth into the water bowl she backed up, but he had caught sight of her.
"Who's there?" he asked still groggy and not fully awake, ignoring him Winter stepped over to the monitoring window and knocked twice. Several minutes passed and Zola returned with some doctors and an engineer. They stood around the man speaking softly before the man swung his arm and caught a doctor by the throat.
Like a bolt of lightning Winter was over there and grabbed the new metal hand, and also showing herself in the light to the man, her eyes locked on his and she made sure not to look him directly in the eyes, she didn't want to remember the look in his eyes when they said what would happen to him.
"Put him on ice." Zola said after jabbing the man in the leg with a sedative. "Carry him to the Cyro chambers, then wait for me there." Unstrapping the man, Winter tossed him over her shoulder and lugged him all the way to the chambers, getting there she told the men there what Zola wanted and they took the man from her.
Watching them ice him, she watched him wake up from his sedative, his eyes locking on her and his hand pressed to the window plane, she stood with her exposed silver arms over her chest and her face blank and empty as that was how she felt...empty. She felt nothing as they locked Bucky away.
What? Who is Bucky? Winter was confused. She felt pain shoot through her chest at the thought of the man -Bucky- being put in a cryo-cell. What is this man to her, why did she feel like a hand crushed her heart when he looked at her that way. "It's time for her to go under too." she heard Zola say, but Winter was still trying to figure out things.
Just as they restrained her and hooked her up, she shouted and sat straight up...

Gasping as she sat up Marina frowned her mind hurt but she was slowly getting used to it as it was a usual occurrence nowadays. Laying back down Marina looked at the clock and frowned she still had a few hours before she really needed to be up, and her mind was still half-asleep. Turning over in her bed she came face to face with the sleeping face of Bucky.
His left arm was metal and held his pillow softly as his mouth pressed lightly to his silver thumb, smiling Marina knew this was either another dream or a hallucination. Either way, she didn't care he was here and she was happy to see him even if he was 'asleep'. Reaching out she was going to brush his hair out of his face but stopped.
Remembering her nightmare she pulled her hand back, but Bucky silver hand on hers stopped her. Curling her hand into his chest, her knuckles pressed to his lips as his eyes slowly opened showing her his handsome blue eyes, that when they first met she avoided looking at, now she couldn't get enough.
"How long can you stay?" she asked. Sitting up on his elbow he reached over and cupped her cheek, and gave her a kiss. "As long as you want." smiling Marina kissed him again then frowned as she pulled back, "That's not true though." smiling but confused Bucky said, "What are you talking about, of course, it is-" "This is a dream, and you can't be here I could hurt you."
Smiling darkly, Bucky pulled back, "But you already have." both of them looked at his chest and there bloodying his chest and white tank top was several bullet holes, the setting shifted and Marina and Bucky were in their fight suits and Marina was holding a smoking gun aimed at him, catching him, Marina screamed in pain and sadness, as she tried to stop the bleeding.
—
Shooting forward Marina woke finally from her double dream and clutched her head, something was wrong. She could feel it, it was like her soul was torturing her for leaving him. Showing her; her worst possible nightmares to get back at her for keeping Bucky away.
"Marina!?" he called. Her heart hammered against her chest. "No..." she gasped out hoping what she heard wasn't true.
