I couldn't go to sleep at all that night. I just laid in bed and watched Riku as he slept peacefully. Thoughts were still running through my head.
Why couldn't I control myself?
It's my fault Riku's hurt...
What was that voice I heard?
Will I be all right?
Will Riku be alright?!
I couldn't stop thinking about it. Everything was mixed up and confusing to me. I turned on my back and stared at the ceiling. I started singing softly.
"Feeling my way through the darkness,
Guided by a beating heart.
I can't tell where the journey will end,
But I know where to start..." I sang softly.
"They tell me I'm too young to understand.
They say I'm caught up in a dream.
But life will pass me by if I don't open up my eyes,
Well that's fine by me."
"Why are you still awake?" Riku whispered, causing me to jump. I looked over to him and smiled with a small blush on my face.
"Sorry I woke you up..." I said sadly.
"It's fine, I couldn't sleep anyways."
"But you were sound asleep before I started singing,"
"I was only resting my eyes."
"O-oh." I looked back to the ceiling, and a few seconds later I hear Riku say,
"Your voice is beautiful..."
My eyes widened and I froze in shock, my face warm.
"H-huh?" I managed to get out.
"Oh, um....your singing is really pretty..." he said with a small blush in his face.
I smiled at him. "Thanks..." I said. I turned over on my side to face him. "Um...how's your arm?" I asked quietly while gently touching his arm.
"It's fine, I'm alright. It only hurts a little."
I slightly smiled at him, but it quickly faded away. I didn't like that he was in pain.
"Tell me the truth, please. How much does it hurt?"
"Adeca, I promise I'm fine-"
"Please...I want the truth..."
"Ok...it hurts pretty bad, but I can handle it."
I sighed and looked down at the floor.
"I am really sorry...I didn't know what was going on. I couldn't control myself, and I don't know why..."
"Adeca, I know it's not your fault. You don't have to apologize." he pulled me closer and hugged me. "I'm fine."
"What if it's not fine? What if I end up hurting everyone? What will happen to you!? Who knows if I'll ever be the same!?"
"Adeca! Everything is gonna be fine!"
I started crying in my pillow and Riku slowly rubbed my back. I had finally gone to sleep that night after crying for what seemed like forever.
