Her Mom dropped Raven off at her apartment on their way home. She texted her about what they saw at the hospital as they went home. It had to have meant something. That little girl only had ever shown up around the school. Why in the world did she show up at the hospital of all places? Raven wasn't sure either.
Both tried to theorize what this meant. But nothing they came up with made any sense. Tish thought that she was like Trevor. A ghost that was trying to get their help. Though she kept disappearing before saying anything. Plus she didn't just appear to them. It didn't make much sense that she wouldn't try to talk to them. Raven also reminded her how she laughed when she scared them both.
Which lead her to guess that it wasn't a ghost. That it had to be something much more malicious than that. She told her that it might be a demon. One that took a little girl's shape to scare them both. Morticia had a hard time believing this. After all they hadn't done anything that would summon a demon lately. And she didn't think they just randomly attached themselves to people. But she did think it was something similar to a demon but she couldn't think of what it could've been. So she told Raven that she'd check online for anything that could sound remotely like this.
As soon as they pulled into the driveway, she grabbed her things and got inside. Hurrying up to her room as she told Raven that she was going to research demons. If she found anything that sounded relevant to what was going on, she'd text her. She put her phone back in her jean's front pocket before setting her backpack on her bed.
Getting her laptop out from under the bed,she sighed. Just what could this thing be if it wasn't a demon? The thing had some qualities that reminded her of demons. But only in the eyes. They were similar to the boring demons she'd seen on Supernatural. Black eyed but otherwise normal looking. Though none of them were in the same state as this 'little girl' was. Her body was decaying like a corpse. If Morticia didn't know any better she would've thought this girl was a zombie. But she didn't behave like a typical zombie either. Too fresh and moved too fluidly to be one. Also she sang to something and had a well with her. None of that screamed zombie. Nor did it really seem like ghost behavior either. And that was puzzling her the most. What would disappear and reappear like a ghost?
As soon as she turned on her laptop, she immediately got on google. Typing in several searches for things like the 'little girl'. After a few minutes, she gave up. Either she'd get things for demons or ghosts that sounded like bullcrap. Or she'd get things for movie monsters that sounded even less like what this was. Morticia was slowly getting frustrated as she turned off her laptop and set it down on the bed next to her. This was like finding a needle in a needlestack. Time consuming, painful, and all together stupid.
Laying back on her bed, she tried to think of why the 'little girl' was at the hospital. Other than to just freak Raven and her. There seemed to be no other reason why she'd show up there. This wasn't making much sense. It almost seemed like she was just...just...toying with them. Like Pennywise did with some of his victims. How he'd pop up anywhere and everywhere to scare the Hell out of them. And none of the adults ever saw him either. It slowly dawned on her that this might be similar to that. Morticia pulled her phone out of her pant's pocket and texted Raven about it. Thinking that maybe she'd at least poke some rational holes into it.
When she finished the text, she felt a little foolish. Thinking that Raven would probably tell her that she was being stupid. Though she didn't seem to think that. She had said that seemed plausible. Highly unlikely but plausible. It would explain why her own Mother didn't seem to notice it. Or anyone that wasn't a teenager. She doubted that it was an alien specifically but probably another supernatural creature. Like a fairy or something to that effect. Morticia told her that wasn't possible. Fairies couldn't exist. Her girlfriend pointed out that she believed that this 'little girl' could've been an alien.
A shape shifting alien at that.
But she couldn't believe that it might be a fairy? Her face burned bright red as she texted her apology. It was a little silly. And she was glad that they were only texting instead of having face time like normal. Otherwise she'd see how bright red her face was. Raven told her that she'd talk to her tomorrow, she was doing her history homework and that she loved her. Morticia texted her a little heart before putting her phone in her pant's pocket.
A fairy. There was no possible way this thing could be a fairy. That sounded like some crappy TV-show plot. This couldn't possibly be happening in real life. Even the weird corpse thing she tackled last summer seemed a lot less crazy.
As she laid on her bed, she thought of the 'little girl' and her sister. If, and that was a huge if, this thing was a fairy. Did it have any involvement with her sister's condition? If it did, what was it doing to her sister to make her so sick? A tear in her heart just didn't sound like something a fairy did. Or anything supernatural. Morticia stopped that thought right there. She already declared it a coincidence. There was nothing tying the little girl to her sister. Other than her brief appearance outside there was nothing linking them together. Correlation wasn't causation. Something supernatural starting a bit before her sister's health declined didn't mean anything at all. Stephanie could've already had this condition for a while. Probably years. Stress from her job could've exacerbated her condition worse without her knowing.
Sitting up, she put her laptop back in its spot then turned on her TV. She turned on her DVD player and heard a little voice singing. The singing was coming from the window that faced the backyard. Low at first then louder until it was like someone shouting at her. By the time she got to the window, the singing stopped. No one was there. But there was an ancient brick work well sitting almost directly below her window.
