Right before I leave to go babysit Jane's cousins, I want to do one last search of under her bed. Of course the cousins and my mom ending up following me in, but not after I had found and picked up Jane's forgotten wallet. I was expecting money, yet sadly found none. In the pockets where cards fit easily there were only used up gift cars and what-not. Then as I pull back the zipper I find not at all what I set out to see, but at the same time I was looking under her bed to find out more of who she was, who she is. My mom was also looking to see what old be in there. My mom pulls the wallet away before I can fully comprehend why she would have cigarettes in her wallet.

Who were you to have such a thing that you always carried around with you? I thought you you were an indecent, normal sister.

The rest of summer is a mixture of playing telephone, someone heard from someone else that my sister...

And, or course, crying myself to sleep at midnight every night, while wondering why she hates me so much.

What I knew was that in early June Grandma Janet was emailing my sister, although she would deny it if I asked. About in the middle of July I was talking to Grandma Janet over the phone, and she told me that she had not been in contact with Jade. I knew she was lying right then and there.

Some where in mid-summer my sister's most recent ex told us that she started texting him. Then throughout the summer we had heard different tales of her moving to Washington State, then she was on a bus in Montana. After hearing that she was no longer in Washington I got a message through Facebook from the woman whom I expected my sister to have run off with.

HER: If you see your sister tell her she needs to come get her damn car we aren't gonna pay for it
ME: Sorry, but no one in her immediate family has heard a word from her. And may I ask why you have her car, just curious.
HER: She left it at a mechanic shop to get fixed and it's under our names and she said we could have it but I'm not paying to get it out of the shop.. get ahold of her boyfriend and pass the message along she also left her dog with us haven't seen her in maybe a month said she was going to see her dad and just left
ME: Oh, sorry about that. Also I'm not sure who her current boyfriend is, nor do I have a way to find out. Plus the only person who I know to be talking with her has also completely blocked us from communication.
HER: So what should we do about the car cause the dog is pretty attached to my brother in law and wont leave his side?
ME: I'm not sure what you could do, I don't really know ugh about cars or legal matters. But you could keep Rowdy if you want, I mean he's a great dog.
HER: I'll let local PD impound it then. Last I knew jade and Logan were still a thing but who knows like I said she said she was going to see her dad in Walla Walla Washington and haven't seen her since she took everything she had except for some clothes and rowdy and the car got on a bus and was gone blocked all of us quit her job and disappeared had her step mom text us saying she was in the hospital but when I called they had no record or her. I think we will keep rowdy to keep him out of the shelter thanks for you help have a good nights
ME: Wait, who is her step mom?
HER: Idk. The text just said step mother

The messages go on further, yet not is is fit for this story. After the part about the mysterious step-mother, the only interesting part is that we got the number of the auto shop my sister's car was at and told them that she wont go back for the car and they could do anything they wanted with it. Also Rowdy wasn't eating or anything, so they found a nice farm for him to live on.

I didn't hear anything else about my sister until right before school started when she started texting different family members asking for money. It started with my Step-Great-Grandfather's daughter, Jenny, getting called by my sister wanting money and a place to stay. Confused Jenny called my Great-Grandparents asking about what's going on with her. After that my sister was also trying to get ahold of others. Aunts. Uncles. Exs. Brother. Step-father.

She asked for money, she claimed to need help, and she told them not to tell others. Some listened and didn't tell, few ignored her and told my mom anyways. Almost everyone said they did not want to give her money, but would help her go to where they were or help her come back home. Once she heard their offers, Jade blocked them and ignored them.

Then school started. The first day was alright, other than I thought my schedule was messed up, so I went to get it fixed. It wasn't until about lunch time that I realized I messed up and my schedule was alright. After I realized that I went back down to the counselors office to tell them not to change anything, nothing bad happened. Yet the next day at school, suddenly I broke down in tears, all the memories of my sister playing around and her acting like she loved me flooding back in after trying to block everything out. I couldn't stop it, I remembered how nice she was, how mean she was, every moment when she did something nice, every day when she'd say something mean, hen how she created a rift in my parents marriage, how now my parents are no longer together. Everything.

After school one day, my mom blew up at dad for some reason, something about my sister. So I was able to get ahold of my dad's phone and found why she was so mad. On August 14, at 4:18 he got a text "Hi".
DAD: Hi how's this
