Our staycation was fun and the nights in the hotel were even funner. (I know funner isn't a word, sue me.) I mean if ya'know what I mean by having at the hotel. *wink* *wink*

Anyway, we drove back home and I dropped Ellie off at her house. Her parents were really excited to see her but I could tell they where sad. I was sad to.

This was the last week of the amazing, kind, beautiful, generous, girl named Ellie Fisher would live... and I hated to think of it. One week. It made me depressed to think about it so I won't. I went home and me and Ellie didn't talk for two days. Then we got together at her place and had a movie marathon. We watch all the Spider-mans we could until we fell asleep.

***Next Morning***

I woke up and saw that the time was 11:35, Ellie would never sleep this late or let me sleep late. I look at her in my arms curled up and I smile. But then I realize something is wrong. She hasn't woken up yet. Her chest is moving and she has a pulse but her breathing is way slower than normal. I shake her a little and say her name but she stays still. I quickly get up and run downstairs to see her stepdad reading something on the dinner table. "She won't wake up."  I say panicked.

He glances up at me for only a second before he runs up to Ellie's room. I follow him upstairs as quick as I can with my still sleeping legs.

We drive to the hospital as fast as we can, Mr Fisher calling Ellie's mom along the way. When we get to the hospital the doctors take Ellie into a hospital room and they tell us to wait outside the room. Eventually her mom, grandparents, and my parents get here.

I kept pacing, back and forth, back and forth for an hour until one of my friends shows up, Daniel.

"Daniel? What are you doing here?" He hugs me and I awkwardly hug him back.

"Your parents called me. I'm here for you man, so please come sit down and stop pacing." I hug him tighter and it's not an awkward hug, he is here for me and I'm grateful for that. It doesn't help when we go sit down though, he may try to get me to talk but each time I open my mouth I fall silent, only wanting to see Ellie again. After another hour they let her parents in Ellie's room. They come out after a couple minutes and then her grandparents go in. Once they come out I beg Mrs.Fisher to let me go and see her.

She nods, looking fragile and ten years older all of a sudden. "Of course dear, go. B-but I'm warning you. She doesn't have long. She might die- pass away when your in there." She starts crying in her husbands arms and I go into the hospital room.

I see Ellie laying on the hospital bed looking very wore out, she opens her eyes when I step next to her. They aren't filled with happiness and curiosity like usual though, instead they are replaced with hopefulness and vulnerability. But we both know there isn't any hope. And that practically kills me from the inside. My childhood friend, my lover, she's so young, how could this happen? I hate this so much and I can barely talk. My throat is all choked up, I'm about to cry but I won't. Not in front of Ellie. Not here and now.

"Hey Max. Or should I say husband?" We both laugh but she just ended up coughing.

"Oh my gosh, are you okay?" I ask her worriedly.

"Yeah I'm fine. Sorry you have to see me this way." We both fell silent.

"I love you." I blurted out. She shook her head.

"Thank you I love you too, b-but you can't. I'm about to leave you and my family. So you can't." I'm outraged at her statement, how can she say that? "No, no don't leave Ellie! Please." I said still choked up, on the edge of crying.

"Please just forget about me. It will make it easier for you." She says taking a deep breath, her eyes flutter for a second as she tries to stay awake a little longer.

"I can't do that Ellie. I'll always remember you because you touched my heart in the best way many times, thank you." She smiled a little at what I said.

"If your going to be that way can I at least get a kiss?" She asks and I chuckle the best I can and lean down, giving her a kiss on the lips.

I made sure to be gentle since she's so fragile right now. She smiled even more when I pulled back.

"Y-You make m-me so happy. I love you M-max." And with those last words,

She died.
