Max and Ellie (Editing)

#1- Street crying

  I'm Max Sonic, the dare devil. (As I like to call myself) I'm crazy I'll admit that to you. But I'm fun as hell.

Today was the last day of school until spring break is over and I was so excited. Me and my buddies went out for pizza. I was walking back home and I heard someone crying quietly. I look around and see Ellie Fisher my childhood (kinda) friend sitting in a tree at the park by our houses crying. Walking over, I look up at her.

"Hey Fisher! What are you doing?" I yell. She looks startled and turns away.

"Nothing." She mumbles but I know better. I climb up to her and sit down.

"Whoever did this I'll annoy them out of their fucking mind for you. Just give me a name." I say and smile but she crys harder. Oh. "Ellie? What happened"

After a minute of her crying and me rubbing her back she finally looks me in the eyes. Her eyes red and a little puffy, hair in a messy bun she spoke at a whisper. "I have cancer... I only have 3 weeks to live."

"Oh Ellie... I'm so sorry." Is all I mange to say as I stare at her dumbfounded. "Yeah." She says looking at her hands, sadly.

"Well, I guess we need to make these 3 weeks count!" She stares at me confused.

"What do you mean by that Max? If you get us in trouble I swear I'll-" but I cut her off.

"Let's get down from this tree, I have some parents to convince." She climbs down and follows me to her house because we both know when I have something in mind I don't stop until I get it.

I come out of the kitchen to see Ellie sitting on the coach in her living room. Behind me are her parents and my parents.

"Hey Ellie, we have something to tell you!" So the parents tell her my plan.

Ellie's mom clears her throat, her eyes a little watery and her voice quiet, "Max and you will take a road trip for 2 weeks so you can do things that you always wanted to do. But you have to stay in the USA of course." She says the last part sternly but I know she wants her daughter to have fun.

Ellie's eyes widen as she looks from me to her parents, "Wait, really? With him?" Her parents give her a stern look and I hold back a laugh.

My dad smiles and looks at me amused, "We already gave Max a credit card with money so you guys will be fine." Ellie's parents go over to her and give her hugs.

Ellie's stepdad that is more of a real dad to her than her own father looks down at her, "We want you here on the last week to be with us though, okay?" She nods and her mom gives her daughter a final hug before standing up as Ellie's stepdad takes her moms hand in his.

I snicker at everyone in the room, "Great! We leave tomorrow so pack your bags!" Her mouth drops open. She mouths a thank you to me and me and my parents leave. This will be one hell of a road trip.
