Chapter 6

_Skyler's P.O.V_

I walked in the door and dropped my bags down it was nice....it wasn't one of those over the top house where the rich have to show how rich they really are.

I hated those kinds of people they were so shallow.

"Hello?!" I waited for a reply looking around, then I heard someone coming down the stairs.

"Well isnt it my beautiful niece"

She came up to me and hugged me she smelled of jasmine. She released me from the hug and stretched out our arms so we were only holding hands. She was so beautiful, dark chestnut brown hair, but she had green eyes. She was tall probably around 5'10, I could tell in her white dress that reach the marble floor that she had a very slender figure, she seemed so perfect like a real life Barbie.

Then I began to wonder again why dad never mentioned her?

"Oh Skyler I'm so sorry I could not get you sooner, the thing was that I was off in Europe on bussines"

She let go of my hand and sighed, "come lets talk in the kitchen area, you must be hungry am I right?" Right as she said those words my stomach growled and I put my hands on it looking at her. She giggled "I'm going to take that as a yes"

We walked towards the kitchen and it had a small living room between the kitchen and able area. The house felt like a real home. I sat in one of the chairs facing the kitchen and looked outside the glass door window that led to a porch and built in pool outside.

"Finally the rain stopped, I thought it was never going to end!"

I heard my aunt laugh "it rains here a lot actually sorry about that"

"What?! Oh my god I thought I said that to myself! My bad!", I was so embarrassed she probably thought I was crazy or something.

I remember dad would make fun of me when I thought I said it in my head,but really said it out loud. I felt a twinge of pain pull at my heart and I closed my eyes shut hoping the pain wouldn't take over me. I fought to keep the memory of that night locked up forever...I promised myself I would never cry over anything or anyone ever again.

I didn't think my own heart could handle it if I lost someone else I loved...

"Skyler?"

I snapped my eyes open and looked at my aunt in the kitchen, "yes Ms.Melinda?"

She bursted out in laughter, I didn't understand why she was laughing.

"Oh sweetheart you don't have to call me that, you can call me Aunt Mel if you want" she smiled at me.

"Oh okay Aunt Mel"

"Good! so back to what I was going to ask you....what is it you would like to eat Skyler?"

I thought about it, although honestly I could eat a whole cow right now if I had one.

"Ummm doesn't matter I'm not a picky eater"

"Oh great! Cause I have some Sushi I brought home from earlier when I was out shopping....you do like sushi right?"

I smiled at her and told her "yes! I love it actually!"

"I think we're going to get along just fine Skyler"

I laughed, "yeah me too oh and by the way you can call me Sky if you want I don't mind"

She smiled,"okay Sky it is"

She came over to the living-room like part of the kitchen where I was sitting and put the tray of Sushi in between us. She handed me a pair of chopsticks and a plate then she took a pillow off the chair and put it on the white marble floor so she would be sitting right up against the table.
