Chapter 10

* 2 weeks later *

I walked down the stairs to the kitchen, I wanted to eat something before I had to go to my new school.

I was nervous, I hadn't been in a public school since my dad's death. I knew I wouldn't be able to handle all the stares and questions if I had gone back.

So after his death, I just stayed with Uncle Bobby and studied nonstop at home so I wouldn't have to think about what happened. Then knowing the paparazzi was going to be all over the place was just going to make going to school even harder.

At least I was smart enough to have a thought of a fake name back in New York and not my real name when I was out in the public eye. Only family and close friends knew my real name so I really had no worries about someone finding me out, well except the last name I couldn't change,so thats when I decided to dye my platinum blonde hair back to my original jet blue black color and cut it in different layers so I couldn't be noticed. which has been working out pretty well I must say.

When Aunt Mel told me she had signed me into some private school I knew it was time for me to get back to my old life and not hide away from life anymore!

Although I know it won't be exactly like before which I was okay with, because having to put on fake smiles and act nice to people who didn't deserve it was truly exhausting. Daddy had always said before we went into one of his friends fancy parties that "it's all apart of life, but it truly creates good business".

"Skyler are you ready?"

I heard Aunt Mel call out to me and I looked down and saw I was still in my short shorts and oversized I love NY shirts.

"uhhhh give me 20 minutes!"

I jumped off the counter and dropped my bowl into the sink. Then ran up to my room squealing in a panic!

"what the hell am I going to wear!"

I found a pair of black skinny jeans and a long black tank top that had skeletal rib cage on it, then I put on my black and white high top sneakers.

I ran to my bathroom and brushed out my hair and straighten it pin straight even though my hair was naturally straight I just did it just to make sure.

I put a bit of powder on my face even though I don't need it, i just put a bit on so i wont look so pale. Then my black eye shadow around my eyes, smudged my eyeliner and a bit of mascara.

I ran down stairs hoping to beat Aunt Mel to the door, which I had no such luck in.

"Ready Sky?"

I looked at her and shook my head in agreement, " yeah", I picked up my messenger bag for school and walked out of the house.

I hopped in the car and after Aunt Mel and drummed my fingers on my lap to the music on the radio.

"So Sky are you excited for your new school?"

I turned towards Aunt Mel snapping out of my little jam session I had going on in my head to the music on the radio.

"Ummm I guess, it's been a while since I've been in a school" I said sadly.

"I know Sky, but this would be good for you...I promise."

I looked at Aunt Mel she seemed content with herself.

I knew she was right, I had to do this for my own sake. I mean I can't hide forever, right?

"Yeah, your right Aunt Mel", I said melancholy.
