Light's POV

The bell above the coffee shop door rung quietly and someone entered. I turned, seeing the cute boy from yesterday. He was wearing a grey hoodie and black jeans, and his hair was a bit messier, but it was the same guy. I recalled the next from earlier. His name is L.

"Hello," I smiled at him, waving at him as he walked up to the counter, leaning on it.

"Hello, Light," he smiled back.

"What'll it be today?"

"Mocha cappuccino, please. I'm feeling a bit sweet."

Was he flirting? I couldn't tell, but I smiled anyway. Whatever he was doing, he was doing a wonderful job. I was certainly entranced.

"Coming right up," I winked at him as I wandered into the kitchen, fixing his cappuccino as he asked. He stayed at the counter, watching me intently as I fixed his cup of joe.

I finished his coffee, handing it to him as he slid me the money to pay for it. He winked at me, sitting back at his booth next to the potted plant.

As my day went on, he stayed at the booth, occasionally coming up to order another cup or make a flirtatious comment. Other than that, however, he simply stayed at the booth, typing away at his laptop.

When my shift was over, I hung up my apron and walked over to his booth, sitting across from him.

"Whatcha typing?"

He glanced up, smirking at me. "It's an essay I'm writing for my Psychology course."

"You're in college?"

"Yep, are you?"

I nodded. He looked at me, confused.

"Then why aren't you in class, Light?"

I grinned. "I could ask you the same thing."

He chuckled. "You've got me there."

I smiled wider. He seemed like a really sweet guy. He ran his hand through his hair again, only momentarily taming his crazy black locks.

He closed his laptop and finished off his coffee, glancing at his watch. "It's getting late. I ought to head home soon."

"I could drive you home if you like," I spoke suddenly. "I've noticed that you always walk here."

He looked up at me. "That's very sweet, but you don't have to."

"But I want to," I countered. And we were in a stare-off for several minutes afterwards before he finally gave in.

"Fine. But only because it is getting cold and there is a 83% possibility of snow."

I grinned in success. "Well, let's get going then. It's not getting any warmer."

L's POV

I sat in the passenger seat of his vehicle, twiddling my thumbs awkwardly. We kept small talk throughout the ride, but, of course, I want very good at it. Until, of course, he asked me about music.

I have a passion for music. I listen to everything from twenty øne piløts to Muse to NF. I also enjoyed The Eden Project and other alternative bands.

I told him this, of course. He seemed very interested. I rambled for another few minutes before I looked up and noticed he was smiling ear to ear.

"What are you smiling for?" I asked.

"You just.... seem so passionate, I guess. I enjoy listening to people talk about what they love." He looked at me as we passed the building at the end of my street. "I like that about you."

I blushed, looking down at my lap. I nodded towards my apartment building. "That's me,"

He stopped the car, pulling into the parking lot and offering to walk me to my room. I accepted.

On our way up, we chatted about music, as well as other things. I learned that we was top of his class, just like me, and that he liked similar music to my taste. I learned that his favorite snack was potato chips, and I told him I loved cake.

When we reached my room, I unlocked the door and turned to him.

"Since you are here, would you like me to put on some tea?"

He accepted my offer, walking inside.

"Take a seat, make yourself at home."

He sat down on the couch, placing his hands in his lap and taking in his surroundings. My apartment was very monochrome and neutral, not many colors, simply ranging from white to grey to black, except for my blue bedsheets. I liked it like that. It was simple, and made for easier concentration.

I finished the tea, walking back over to him and handing him his cup. I sat next to him, pulling my knees up to my chest and taking a fucking sip, babes.

We continued to chat until the clock struck ten and the wind began to pick up outside. By the time we had finally broke away form our conversation, a snowstorm had picked up outside.

"Well," he sighed. "That's certainly an issue. Don't know how I'm going to get home in this weather."

"Hm," I pondered. "You are right. I can grab some extra sheets from the laundry room and you can sleep here for the night."

"Really?" Light asked. "You don't have to if you don't want to-"

"No, shut up. I'm not letting you drive in this damn weather. I'm gonna go get the sheets."

He sighed in defeat. "Okay," he smirked. "Never thought you would invite me to stay the night, aren't we moving a bit too fast?"

I threw the laundry basket at his head as he erupted in laughter.
