The Perfect Partner [AU]

Chapter Two.

Hellicarier, The Avenger's 'Lounge'.

   Tony was sitting on one of the chairs, reading a magazine with his face on the cover. His finger was placed on his lower lip, staring at the magazine. Natasha was just sitting beside him, staring out of nowhere.

Steve sat on his chair, throwing darts with Thor while Bruce stood there, looking through his phone. "I am extremely bored." Bruce says, and Natasha glances at him, "You think you're the only one?" she asks with a rhetorical question.

The door suddenly opens, making a loud barricade sound.

"Men, get on your feet, as I introduce to you a new member of the Avengers Family." Nick says, as he stops walking toward the table. They stand up, leaving Tony who was still on his seat. He puts his magazine down and stands up, fixing his tie.

"I don't understand why you're still wearing that." Natasha says.

"We have a visitor." Tony responds, "First impressions, you know." He adds with a wink. Natasha gave him a sigh, glacing back at Fury.

"Gentlemen, and Woman.." Nick glances on Natasha, and she nods once, "Here's Pricilla Dawn.." Fury introduces.

Thor frowns, and thinks curiously, "Pricilla?" he repeats, looking at Steve. Hoping for the same confusion he had in mind.

        Tony looks at Natasha, "What- with a girl name?" he whispers to her. The sound of footsteps on the floor covered the silence, making everyone glance at the woman entering the room. Her long, raven and copper hair sways with her movement as she walks in, bringing out the color from her plain gray tanktop and leather pants. She stops and stands still beside Nick Fury with her black combat boots making the heels thump one last time. She was beautiful with her green eyes and faded pink lips.

Steve stares at her, trying to face the fact that 'Dawn' was a woman and not a man. They all thought Fury was joking.

"Wait.. Director Fury." Tony spreads his hand towards Fury, "I thought you were talking about a guy?" He asks with his face filled with confusion.

Dawn stood there, looking back at them.

"Yes, well.. Forgive me about that." Nick laughs, "Consider it a joke. Trying not to spoil the surprise."

Tony couldn't believe it. He lets out a sigh, and Steve kept his eyes on her.

"But when I informed you all about what she could do," his face went back to a frown, "It's true."

"That's kind of strange, isn't it?" Thor says,

"Nothing is. Everything exists now in the world of impossibility." Dawn replies, "Like you, the God from the Heavens and Doctor Banner's huge strength ability..." she glances at her right, "and Captain here, of course. The very first avenger, still active. Mister Stark who has a very unique heart, Hawkeye with unbelievable archery and defense skills," Then she glances at Natasha, "and the only woman in the team, and really beautiful, Yet very dangerous." She smirks.

"I like her." Natasha whispers to Tony after Dawn looked away, and back at Thor.

"-Wait." Steve speaks up, "So, you really are Dawn?" Steve asks again.

"Yes, I am." She nodded softly.

"Alright, now that you all know each other. I hope you don't mind if I shall leave." Fury turns around and nods at Dawn before he left, "Be friendly." he adds and leaves.

Dawn sneers and glances back at the team. "Great to finally meet the Avengers." she smiles, "I actually cannot believe I'm here." She says, walking to an empty chair and sits on it.

"Yes. Well, You're a part of it now." Natasha says, sitting back down. Dawn grins at her softly.

Tony sits down as well, "You can now, sit back and be bored with the rest of the men." he adds, reading his magazine.

Dawn chuckles at him, "No thanks, I think I'll start with the weapons later."

"How did you get your ability?" Steve asks, "Like what happened at the actual incident?"

Pricilla looks at him, "You have a lot of questions." She chuckles.

"I'm always curious." Steve smiles at her, and she smiled back at him. "I see. Well, It was an accident. I was just a kid, and my dad took me with him at work. He was working with this experiment as I watched." Thor glances at Dawn and listens.

"Then, at the middle of the experiment, Stupid me, When dad tried to stop it because he thought it wasn't working, I came in the way, and I was kinda mixed with the whole thing when I tried stopping it. Dad panicked, and tried cutting the lines off." She pauses, "It shocked him, and the man he tried experimenting with died with all the energy used up." Pricilla looks away, "Now what I don't understand is why I survived and they both died with the shockwave."

"Maybe it was fate." Steve says, making Pricilla look at him.

"Tragic." Tony says, still looking at the magazine, reading it.

Pricilla turns to face him, "Yes. It was. But I knew, I would someday use it for something." She looks down, placing her feet on the table and relaxed, "Like helping save the world, and try to be a hero." She chuckles. Thinking like it was some kind of silly joke.

"It's possible." Natasha glances at her, and she gives her a smirk. "Thanks." she mimicked.

"So," Pricilla looks back at Steve, "does that answer your question, Cap?" she asks. Steve smirks at her, "Yeah."

She smiles, and slowly look away from him. She had to admit to herself, she did have a little crush on Steve. With the fact that he is a good role model, and he's just an amazing kind of person. But she's not that type of person who shows what she does feel. She keeps things to herself.

That is, until she and Steve got to know each other.
