2 years had passed, and Michelle's initiation test was finished. She had got through and now she was living at the farm with all her other Amity friends. Whenever dad was out, she would come over. Mum and dad were out often, because of their job, so I saw Michelle quite alot.
This morning, dad wasn't here, but mum and Michele were. Today was my aptitude test, the day I had been dreaming about my whole life, but now, I was dreading it.
"Are you alright?" Asked my mum as I walked downstairs.
"Yeah, I'm really nervous though." I admitted. Michelle walked towards me with my breakfast and said,
"Don't worry, it's perfectly normal. Just do what your gut tells you to do. " I smiled at her and sat down with my breakfast.
"What was it like?" I asked Michelle, "the test."
"It was, er...different from other tests I've had." She replied.
"What do you mean, different?" I pushed, but mum shot me a warning look.
"I better go then." I said, standing up and hugging my mum and Michelle.
I ran out of the house towards the train, it flew by and I launched myself inside, I sat down on the floor next to Ella, she hadn't changed from when we were 14, except she was even taller now. I guess I'm the same aswell.
"Hi, you nervous?" She asked.
"Yes, absoloutly. You?" I asked, even though I could tell she was, her feet were tapping continously on the ground.
"You don't even need to ask do you?" She said, as if reading my mind, I just shook my head in reply.
I jumped off the train and landed on my legs, hurting them and making me stumble. I crashed into Ella who tried to help me gain my balance.
"You ok?" she asked, looking me in the eyes.
"Yeah, yeah fine." I replied. but in truth, I had no idea what had just happened. I never stumbled, ever, I always rolled perfectly and got up running. what was wrong with me?
For the whole day I just stared out of the window, no more joking around. This was our last day, this was serious.
Lunch came, and the whole class found themselves sitting next to each other. It was an act of support I guess, because we were all scared out of our wits.
I sat down and Ella sat next to me, I looked to the other side of me to see who was there, and guess who just sat down, the ever amazing, Jonathan Fairfield (who has a name like that anyway?). usually I would have glared at him, but today we were united, so I looked at him, then turned around.
As people's names got called out, and the numbers on our table got less and less, I started getting more nervous, my fingers tapped the table and my feet kicked the chair.
"Tony Franks and Jonathan Fairfeild!" blared the speaker man, a ginger haired candor boy stood and walked away, Jonathan shakily pushed his chair away and got up, he swallowed. I don't know what I was doing, but he looked like he was going to faint, as he was about to walk away I said,
"Don't worry, it'll be ok." he stared at me in disbelief and I mirrored his expression, Ella grabbed my arm. Jonathan nodded and walked away.
"Zoe!" Ella exclaimed.
"I...I don't-" I stuttered,
"I thought you hated him!'
"I do! I just... he looked so nervous!" I defended. Ella just raised her eyebrows at me and looked back down at her plate, nervously awaiting her name to be called. finally,
"Zoe Grace and Ella Grayford!" the voice boomed. we got up together and walked out of the lunch hall towards the test room, we stood outside our separate rooms. we looked at each other as the doors opened, and gave each other a look that said, we can do this. I walked into the room unsure of what was to come.
