I walked into the room, it was a small, closed in sort of room. All four walls were mirrors, I could see my pale, shaking body everywhere.
A woman was standing at the front of the room, and in the middle of the room was chair, like a dentists chair, attached to some sort of machine. I looked to the woman.
"Hello, my name is Alice, nice to meet you." said the woman, Alice. She was Abnegation because all of the aptitude testers are Abnegation, except at least one because you're not allowed to be tested by someone from the same faction as you.
"Hi, I'm Zoe." I said as she shook my hand.
"Yes, ok. so if you want to sit down, I'll just connect us to the machine." Alice said as I sat down in the dentist chair.
She stuck some wires to my head, and did the same to hers. Then she handed me a little glass test tube kind of thing, with blue liquid in it.
"Can you drink this for me please?" She asked.
"What is it?" I inquired.
"Something to help you get into the system." She replied, I was going to ask what that meant, but instead I held up the glass and pouted the liquid into my mouth. It all went black.
Suddenly I was back in the lunch Hall, on the table infront of me was a rope, a whistle, cheese, and a knife. a voice boomed from out of no where.
"Choose."
"Why?" I called back up. The voice boomed louder,
"CHOOSE!" I swallowed and looked down at the table, my heart was beating fast and I was scared, I picked up the only thing that might protect me, I picked up the knife.
I heard growling from behind me, I whipped around and held my knife at the ready. a big, viscous dog, with its big, white teeth showing, was stalking towards, ready for its meal. I started breathing quickly, what can I do? What can I do? I thought, my mind racing, the dog was getting closer and closer. Suddenly, out of the blue, a thought popped into my head, what do dogs like? Dogs like sticks, and a knife was sort of like a sick, if I get it to chase after the knife, then I'll be able to run.
I lifted the into the air and waved it about, getting the dogs attention, it ears pricked up, and it's head lifted. I threw the knife to the end of the hall, and the dog chased after it. Just as I was about to run, I realised what was going to happen, I was just going to turn and shoot when I heard a yelp and a squeal as the dog bit into the blade.
I covered my ears and crouched on the floor, burying my face in my knees.
Then it stopped and I was in a boxing ring, Jonathan was standing in the other corner of the ring, completely focused, not the scared boy who had left the lunch table. His hands were infront of his face and he was bouncing on his toes, like a boxer. A bell went and the match started, I jumped up and covered my face.
Jonathan went in for the first punch and got the side of my head, I stumbled then spun around, punching him in the stomach. But I was to slow, he jumped and punched me in the face, I fell to the ground, and a pain stabbed my side. Jonathan was kicking me. I groaned and tried to protect myself from his kicks. I cant let him beat me, not to Jonathan Fairfield, not to him. I thought, my eyes burned with new found fire, I lashed out and grabbed Jonathan's foot.i pulled it and he fell backwards, I jumped up kicked his chest as he tried to sit up, he fell back down and I kicked his side, as he had done to me. I carried on until the bell rung again, and the scene changed.
This time, I was on a bus. I was standing next to a seat with a man in it, he looked up at me and took a picture out of his pocket, he showed it to me and said,
"Do you know that woman?" I looked at the picture, it was a picture of mum, I swallowed.
"Killed my children, two beautiful little twins, what kind of sick person would do that?" He asked, his voice getting quieter, my mouth opened to say something, but nothing came out.
"So do you know her?" He pushed. I couldn't say yes. I tried to say no but I couldn't, no words came out. So I shook my head, but he could tell I was lying.
"You're lying! You know her!!! You know her!!!!" He screamed, just then, the dots of the bus opened and I jumped out, leaving the screaming man behind me.
The street turned into the mirrored room and I opened my eyes wide. My throat hurt and I was sweating. I looked at Alice who smiled and took off the wires attached to our heads.
"What did I get?" I asked, getting straight to the point.
"You got Dauntless Zoe. It's alright." She comforted, then her expression turned sad,
"that dog thing upset you didn't it?" I shivered at the thought. But I had to admit, it really upset me. I nodded my head.
Alice put a hand on my arm.
"It's ok, my advice would be to just go home, have something hot to drink, eat something, then go to bed. Don't worry about what you saw or what you're going to choose tomorrow, just rest." I smiled at her, she was so kind.
"Thankyou, I will." I replied, I got up and headed home. Doing exactly what I add tips to do. By the end of the day I was tucked up in bed, but I couldn't get the images from my test out of my head. The screaming man, Jonathan squirming on the floor in pain, the innocent dog biting into the blade, and its cries.
