Lune's POV
"Hyung."
W-what? It ain't morning yet.
"The time is twelve am. New Year hyung!"
I'm getting up!
"Seriously hyung. Why'd you eat or drink anything that made you think to sleep in your boxers?" Seojung ruffled his cropped black tresses.
"Is it bad? I wanted to feel colder." I said in three-fourths of slipping in loose clothes.
"Okke. Algesseoyo. (Okay. I understood.)"
I finished after Seojung's response and together we trailed down the steps rushed that I slightly stumbled, not fully awakened yet.
"There, complete." Seojung whispers. The rest of my fam are here by the windows. My whole self eventually awoke hearing the firecrackers. Kamsahaeyo (Thank you) fireworks display!
Every New Year, we always get up to witness fireworks. They never fail to tint our mood.
"Luckily, no firecracker victims. Safety's upon everybody." Soorim noona updates behind Haeyoon imo.
"I can see that, neesan (older sister)." Seojung, whilst his eyes watch the outside. I studied individually my relatives. I seldom do this, doesn't necessarily mean I'm not aware of those around me. My eyes and eomma's locked; has she noticed anything lately? No ghosts.
"Lune." her left hand's fingers swiftly bent backwards twice, commanding me to move to her. Eomma gently pushed me to ssang and faced us both. Her eyeballs rolled up and down.
"Eomma, you're still you, matjiyo (right)?" I twittered following Celeste's statement.
"Geureomyo! (Of course!) I just recently noticed your growth." Ooh...we grew! Celeste's eyes and mine met, I mean our big eyes faced each other. And instantly returned to our regular eye size. "Cool." we lowly exclaimed.
A brush on the side of my leg was felt. My eyes fixed below and there's Dal eyeing me with the famous puppy eyes. Jinjja gwiyeobda! (Really cute!) I pulled and raised him above my head to show him the fireworks display. Minutes later, the fireworks ceased. I carried Dal to my chest. He snuggled to me rubbing his head on my sweatshirt.
*FLASH!*
Mwong mi?! (What the?!)
"Mianhae (Sorry), I got amused." Aeri halmeoni said and grimaced. "Oh." I grinned.
I felt Dal's front legs dangling atop my arms. I paid attention to him, whose eyes are set to his occupied dog bowl.
"Meokeo sipeo? (Want to eat?)"
Dal looked up at me and elicited his small bark. A yes.
I unclasped him down to his dog bowl and joined my family for our midnight meal.
We have on our table jjolmyeon, hoeddeok, dorayaki, and cake. Dal is eating jerky.
Yeon noona took charge of the dishes and other utensils, finishing the task maybe around four minutes.
I am between Celeste ssang and Seojung, with halmeoni and Aeri halmeoni. The rest remained on the table to have their non-alcoholic drinking session. Aigo (Geez), I don't wanna drink! Even if it's mocktail, sanggwan eobseo (I don't care)! I looked up online, I've read in articles, heard from the television and radio, learned in school like other kids out there, I know in myself that those beverages are hazardous. I'd rather eat smelly food than that. Even Celeste opposes drinking.
Seojung's head rested on my shoulder. "Even though I reach eighteen, watashiwa nomitaku arimasen (I don't want to drink)!" he yelled quietly from his diaphragm.
"Keep that oath. Very good. Watashi mo. (Me too.)" I affirmed. Celeste turned to us and gave a thumbs up. Soorim noona seconds the motion.
"Oh well." Yeon noona sits with us devoid of beads of sweat.
"You're not joining them?" Soorim noona asked.
"Maichai (No). Never." Great! She's with us! Woohoo!
"Good!" we, Celeste, Soorim noona, Seojung, and I, replied to her.
My vision went fuzzy minutes after conversing bits with the teetotalers like me. Dreamland people working their magic on me once again! Great! Good...mornight...
----------
"Dasi saehae bokmani badeuseyo!!! (Happy New Year again!)"
I jumped on the couch to eomma's clamorous greetings.
"Ye, haengbokhan icheonsibyooknyeon! (Yes, happy twenty-sixteen!)" I greeted after parting from the couch. Looks like we teens were all sprawled and snoozing on the couches before aurora. Morning rituals were firstly processed followed by steps to the dining area.
