"My baby boy graduated. Oh my goodness, where has the time gone. I just remember bringing you home from the hospital. Now you're a big boy." My mom was crying about me finally graduating high school. We already walked across the stage and was meeting with our families.
"Mom, I'm a man, not a big boy." She still looks at me as the little boy I was in the mommy and me classes.
"I know and soon you'll be gone to college and leave the nest. Are you sure you want to go to school in Louisiana. Maybe you can stay in Florida and go to the university in Miami and live at home." She didn't want to let me leave home, she wanted me to stay in Miami, but I told her I wanted to venture out on my own and that I would always visit home for food and get my laundry washed.
"Yes mom it will be okay, I will visit as much as I can and call or video chat, plus I still have the rest of summer vacation, to spend with you. You know I love you Mom and everyone." She pulled me in to a bone crushing hug.
"Okay mom, I can't breathe."
"Just a little bit longer." My dad had to pry her off me.
"I'm so sorry honey. I'm just going to miss you so much, and I'm giving you enough hugs and kisses to last until you come back for Thanksgiving break." I love my mom, even when she's become over bearing.
"Its okay mom."
Everyone was at the graduation. Mom, dad, Adele, Daniel, Lorenzo, Diamond, who was 8 months pregnant, and the demons.
"Congrats, little bro. On to bigger and better things. College parties, college girls, college dorms....." Lorenzo was cut off.
"College work, college debt, freshman fifteen." Adele continued from where Lorenzo was cut off.
"All sounds great..." I look at Lorenzo. "And depressing...." I look at Adele.
"But I intend to make the most of all sides of college life and the girls part, I already have my college girl." I look in the direction of Chy and she looked at me too and smiled.
"And speaking of girls, I have one I have to congratulate." I said then walked towards Chy.
"Hey gorgeous." I kisses her cheek.

"Nope, go right on ahead." I grabbed her hand and walk to the other side of the building, it was still people around but not as much as the front had.
"So did you get your letter from Louisiana state." She nodded.
"Yeah, but I'm scared to open it. Can you do it?" She asked me.

"Yeah, I trust you, I'm too scared to open it." I looked at her one more time and ripped open her envelope.
