Accidental marriage

Chapter 24

Sanyukta's pov
Our first day just passed by and today was randhir and vanya's engagement.
From morning my mom was just running all around the house and doing the preparations she didn't stop even for a minute, actually everyone in the house were busy with preparations and here I was getting ready for my office.
After sometime I went down and asked our cook to make Breakfast for me and went and sat on the the dining table where baba was sitting and reading newspaper I said goodmorning to him  and started seeing my schedule for the day  on the phone when I saw my mom coming my way and  I knew that now I am definitely going to get late because of her question and answer session but  still i concentrated just on my phone .
My mom came and said " where do you think you are going sanyukta?". She could see I was wearing my office clothes but yet she had to ask I just sighed and said " mom I am going to office. There are some important things to be done I will leave after doing my breakfast" as soon as I finished I knew now she was gonna explode with anger but  I also knew this is all because  it was her daughter's engagement and she is bound to behave like this . And my mom said " no way how can you even think of going to the office, today is your sister's engagement there are so many things to be done here and so many preparations to done at the engagement hall and you talking about going to work " with all her shouting soon everyone in the family came to the place where we were and my dadi said " what did you expect out of a girl for whom work is above everything that she will stay and work for her sister's engagement." listening what dadi said my mom cooled of a bit and said to dadi " I didn't mean it in that way mummy " and then looked at me and said " sanyukta  today is such an important day for your sister , I am not asking you to do all the preparations but I am just saying that atleast be here with us and her afterall it's our responsibility to make her important day special". I was little hurt by what my dadi said how could she even think I am going to office to run from my responsibilities but then I replied to mom " mom i am not just the vice President of the company I am now owner /MD of the company and I can't just take a holiday if I will do that then who will run this company and dadi even  I want to stay back with my sister, help mom in the preparations but I am going because today Randhir is not going to be there and if even I don't go then our company will suffer and I can't  let that happen.
For years if Anirudh uncle had some important work and could not come then  baba used to go and vice versa and run the company I am also doing the same thing " with that I left for the office. My dad came to me as soon as I was going to sit in my car said"sanyu beta I am proud of you and randhir  that you both are fullfilling all your responsibilities so well but also remember you have a responsibility towards your sister I am not stopping you from going to office but i expect that you will be back in time for the engagement " I just nodded and left for the office.
In the evening when I came back I saw my mom and dad were already dressed and sitting in the living room . As soon as I went in my mom said " sanyukta were have you been you know even everyone got ready and left for the engagement and we are here waiting for your sister who is also almost ready and you are coming now.  Now how will you get ready and make it in time to the engagement " I just smiled and said " mom relax I  am not the bride so don't worry I will not take time and you dad and Vanya go I will come before the engagement starts I promise ."and as soon as I finished I looked at the stairs and saw my sister and vidhushi coming down and a smile  came on my face after seeing Vanya ,she looked so pretty in that dress .

And then I saw vidhushi she was also looking so good that I was actually surprised that Parth never noticed her.

My mom went to Vanya and said " oh my god you are looking so beautiful my princess". I just went to Vanya and hugged her and said " today randhir won't be able to his eyes of you " and then looked at Vidhushi and then back to Vanya and said "did the sun rise from West today I mean both of you together that to so peacefully you both are fine right" and my mom and dad started laughing and then vidhushi said " no the sun rised from were it should and I and Vanya might fight alot but still we are sister's if you remember and its her big day so how come I won't be here especially when her big sister left her alone here" I just smiled and said " vidhushi you know the reason I left so plz let's forget all that and concentrate on the engagement and I think you all should also leave it's getting late" and then my mom said" sanyukta you are right we should be leaving and as for you I have taken out your clothes wear them and come and don't you think of  wearing anything else  because even if you do it's of no use I have locked your cupboard and you don't have a choice ." With that they all left for the engagement .
