Hello!!!!!!!!!

Sorry I haven't updated in a few days...

Sooo sorry for the shitty writing. I'm in an A W F U L mood and it's like...really bad, so this chapter will be too.

Then again, just pretend Robbie has a really shitty train of thought and hey maybe it'll sound intentional

Thank you guys so much for over 40K, and thank you for 1K on Monster! I have huge plans for it, and I'm hoping everything will pan out nicely(: (no pun intended ;))

Enjoy!

Chapter 31: Returning the Gesture

Robbie's POV

I guess I should have expected the next few days following my confession to Arianna.

She was distant, despite the fact her kisses were real as were her hands.

I came back to school the following day expecting only the best of us.

But, unfortunately, that wasn't the case.

*~*~*~*

Lunch was aggravating.

I waited for Arianna to come down the stairs.

I sat at my table, probably twiddling my thumbs or biting my nails or rubbing my shoes against the table legs...all nervous habits, all done in the utmost anxiety waiting for her.

Finally, she came, her baby blue hi-low dress tickling the edges of her sandy strapped wedges, ever so gracefully wrapping her fingers down the railing, watching her feet on every stair...

I meant to stand up and come to her, but she left me speechless. Ever since dumping Tristan, she seemed ten thousand times happier. I would have never seen her in such a carefree outfit a month ago. She'd rather wear sweats and a baggy jacket.

My legs were jelly.

I couldn't do it.

I watched her drop her backpack off at her table and then head off to the lunch line with Zoey. It seemed her and her friends made up. All except Danielle, of course.

She was walking up the center aisle.

Closer, closer to my table.

Her dress tail fluttering gently behind her, she was right by my table.

I smiled gently at her when her eyes met mine, but she just looked away.

What the hell.

I can't tell you how off that made me, leaving me eyeing the surface table the entire lunch. Not a friend of mine asked about my dilemma, though Ben watched me. I didn't acknowledge it. I didn't acknowledge my food. In fact I pushed it away from me. And eventually, tossed it in the trash can and through the tray in the tray dump.

Then is when I decided something.

Arianna couldn't ignore me if I approached her directly, right?

And that's what I did, leaving my table and walked right up to Arianna's.

Danielle was silently dunking fries into her ketchup, Natalia and Kylie showing each other something on their phones, Zoey and Arianna messing with each other's salad and cookies. She looked so much happier without Tristan, and in turn, made smile when I finally stood in front of them.

I cleared my throat and Arianna looked up at me, following the rest of the faces. Except for Danielle. But I knew she saw me because she snapped a fry in half and rolled her eyes.
