Previously, on Chapter 1:

I headed up to my room, and changed into my pajamas. I slid under the warm covers as my vision was slowly filled with dark specks. I finally close my eyes  as I fall into a dreamless sleep.

The young h/c woke up from her usual dreamless sleep, stretching. Her e/c orbs darted around at her almost completely empty room, feeling dazed. She searched her mind for any information on what had happened the day before. Well, she clearly managed to find it as she jumped out of her bed, still in her pajamas, and ran down the stairs, only to be greeted by the smell of bacon and eggs. She assumed her mother, Kristen, had woken up earlier than her and was now making breakfast for the two of them. Her face flashed a big grin, while walking towards Kristen. She gave her mother a hug from the back, as she turned to see her nearly just as tall as the teen and smiled, then put her attention back on the bacon and eggs.

"You didn't have to cook for me, Ma," the young female said, letting her mother free from her grasp, "I could've made this myself."

"It's okay, dear. Remember, we're moving tomorrow, so pack everything up," Kristen said with a smile, then turned her attention back to the pan. The h/c girl, Y/N, sat at the dining table, waiting patiently for the food. Kristen turned the flame off, and placed the bacon and eggs on a plate before serving it to the young teen.

"For you, Madam," she joked, and both females chuckled.

"Thank you, Milady," Y/N joked back, only to receive another chuckle from her mother. She started to eat while glancing up to look at her mother every once in a while to see her staring off into space. The moment she finished, she placed the utensils down, then leaned forward and started snapping hr fingers in Kristen's face while saying, "Hello? Anyone home? Earth to Mom?"  Her mother almost instantaneously snapped out of it, glancing at her daughter and sighed. Y/N just shrugged, then stood up and washed her empty plate, then placed it back where it belonged on the counter.

In her mother's eyes, Y/N was a happy young girl who willingly helped anyone in need, and she encouraged her to continue that good attitude of hers. She smiled at the memory of the both of them helping to cheer up a friend, who was crying because of the loss of her grandfather.

Y/N had already placed a cup of milk in front of her mother, then shot her a sweet smile before heading back up to finish her packing. She put many of her books in boxes, and sorted them according to the type and between fiction and non fiction. She then placed frames of photos that she hung up on the wall in a different box, making sure not to break any of them. She had noticed that their couch had been wrapped up the previous day, and now it was gone. She presumed that it had been transported to their new house in Gravity Falls, so she didn't really mind it much. The only thing on her mind this instant, was her meeting her old friends, the twins who, too, moved to Gravity Falls after they spent their first summer there. She had lost contact with them after they had moved, so she was more than excited and happy to finally see them again.

On the other hand, Kristen had been packing her things, and needed some help from her daughter, so she called out for her and she burst into the room with no hesitation. They helped each other with everything before taking out an outfit each for them to change into the next day. The last time Kristen felt this kind of joy was when Y/N's father was still alive and well, and ever since that car crash, Y/N had made sure her remaining family, her mother, was safe from any danger, and had sworn to help her or anyone who has felt this kind of pain.

By the time they had finished, streaks of orange, red and purple had appeared on the sky, as the moon slowly starts to rise. Both females yawned and bid each other goodnight before heading to their respective rooms. Kristen fell into a dreamless sleep within minutes, while Y/N slowly closed her eyes and breathed.

The young h/c awoke, laying on the soft grass brushing against her back. She observed her surroundings, and expected a world filled with colour, but instead, she saw a world filled with white, different shades of grey, and black. She inspected her monotone coloured scenery, and sat up from her lying down position. She pushed herself up with a small jump, and walked around, observing the pine trees surrounding her.

She finally noticed that she was in a small clearing, and looked for a path to walk through. Managing to spot a dirt path seconds later, she hesitantly walked through it, while clutching her hands together as she placed them on her chest. She finally found herself at another clearing, this time it greeted her with a lake. A smile twitched on her face as she stepped towards the grey waters, glistening in the light. Only then she noticed that nothing around her was moving, and she was the only thing in particular who was in colour. She stared at her reflection while asking herself why there wasn't any life around her, why everything was grey, why nothing else was moving. It felt as if time itself had stopped. That's when she noticed a black hand stretching out to her from behind her, according to her reflection, and immediately spun around by reflexes, only to be greeted with a hand sticking out from nowhere, a blue flame dancing on it. She shrieked after realizing that another hand had appeared, and they attempted to grab her, so she tried to run, only to be pulled back by one of the hands by her back collar. She was then gently picked up and she closed her eyes. She opened one of them only to find herself and the hands now on a cliff, and she being right above the drop. She screamed in terror as the grip from the hand loosened. The hand let her go, and she fell down the never ending fall.

She shot up from her bed, panting in terror as she looked around her room. She heaved a sigh of relief, it was only a dream, a nightmare. She got up from her bed and did the necessary morning routine. Today was the day she and her mother were moving to Gravity Falls.
