III (Levi's POV)

I stepped out of the shower, all to aware of the chances of slipping and the cold marble beneath my feet. I grabbed a towel as quickly as possible the shield my body from the cold, and I made my way from the bathroom down to my room, flicking the lights off as I went.

Running my hands along the plastic coat hangers, I picked out a grey turtle neck, and some pristine black jeans. And then, after I laid those on my bed, I picked out a pair of leather, black boots, and the necklace I wore at all times.

5:30pm. I had another 2 hours, so in the meantime, I took out my course work and began to work through it, having to research some questions and flying through others. English wasn't as difficult as everybody said, it was a breeze as long as you kept up to date with work, honestly. When I was off ill for a week about three months ago, I was left far behind, and I had to do a double weeks work for the one I missed and the current one at the time. Rook climbed onto my lap as I was busy writing, licking her paws and grooming herself, keeping her already pristine fur neat.

And for the rest of my time, after my head began to ache, I grabbed a glass of water, dressed, slicked my hair back and scrolled through social media. I saw I had a request from an all too familiar face. Ely Oldheld. Someone I had a lot of history with. Swiftly, I pressed the 'Delete' button, not wanting to think of him tonight.

The story behind Ely is long and laborious, but as short as I can make it, we met in my first year at College, he was sweet, and a year older than me, so he showed me around. He was there doing his A-levels, wanting to become a doctor. With who I was, I'd never experienced any one who I'd fallen in love with, just men who were good in bed, so when Ely took me out on dates and we hung out, I was swept off my feet, not that I'd ever admit it. Every kiss that he planted on my cheek made my heart race, and every term of affection he used had me in the palm of his hands, but just as things were getting serious, and just before he uttered the trio of words that can change a relationship completely, I remembered who I was. I remembered I wasn't someone allowed to love. I wasn't someone who was there to keep people safe, and the ones I did I often struggled to. He would just be another target. Another person with strings attached, and I didn't want to lope him in with my problems, to risk his life. In consequence, out of my own volition, I said goodbye, and we'd only ever spoken twice after that. It pained me to leave him, but I couldn't risk him.

The door bell sounded, merry and high in pitch, which brought me out of my thoughts.
Lifting Rook from my lap and placing her gently on the floor, brushed my lap free of cat hair, and greeted none other than Erwin at the door, his face plastered with a grin. "Levi. You look beautiful." I watched as he ran his eyes along my figure before meeting with my own again. "Thanks.." he looked for sure a lot smarter than me. He was wearing a crisp white shirt, loose black trousers and posh shoes. I didn't do fancy, casual was as fancy as you'd get me.

After a brief conversation, we made our way down the steps and into his car. A silver Audi, no speck of dirt to be seen. And the smell was fresh, pleasant. Not the type of car you'd expect from a university student, when the stereo-type is someone who lives on beans and porridge. Of course, for Erwin it was different. His mother was a Dentist at the city's best dental practice, her name was Natalie, and his father was an incredibly famous lawyer, Micheal Smith. He'd won an infamous amount of cases, from the biggest to the smallest, right or wrong, all got out scott-free.

"Sorry for being a little late." He apologised while pulling out of the small parking space. He appeared apologetic, but he didn't take his eyes from the road, so I didn't know. "I had to look after my sister, and my Mum only got in a few minutes ago, so I had to stay with her until then." We passed a round about and I shook my head, dismissing his apology "it's fine, I have a sister too. She's younger, so I had to do the same a few years ago."
"Haha yeh, being the older sibling definitely has its cons. Other than a sister, do you have any others? I have an older sister, also, but she's working away."
"Furlan. He's the older brother."
"Ah yes, I think I've seen you with him. Tall, blonde, but the same blue eyes as you?"
