She was a good friend to the band. Heck, she was there since the very beginning. She was the one who scheduled all of our tours in the beginning and helped us amass a falling. Basically, we owe her for the existence of Fall Out Boy.
So, to celebrate all of her contributions, we decided to throw a party for her. We had everything set up already, we just needed to invite her over.
"Hey Y/n." I tapped on the door to her office and peeked in.
She looked up from the documents she was looking at and smiled. "Oh hey Trick. What's up?"
"I was wondering if you wanted to come over for a party tonight? It'll be super fun." I asked, knowing she'd say yes. She loves party and I've yet to hear her turn one down.
"I'm sorry I can't tonight. Maybe some other time?" Wait what?
"U-really? Why? What's going on?" I questioned, utterly confused.
She bit her lip. "It's nothing, just really busy."
"If it's band stuff, we'll understand if you blow it off until tomorrow." I explained, trying to help.
"No it's, a friend of mine I haven't seen in forever is coming over tonight and I'd really like to catch up with them." She admitted.
I nodded, understanding. "Maybe next time?"
She nodded. "Sounds good." As she went back to work, I headed to the parking lot, where Joe, Andy, and Pete met up with me.
"So when's she coming? We gotta know when to surprise her." Pete asked, slinging his arm over my shoulder.
I shook my head. "She's not coming."
"What?" Joe stopped. "Why isn't she coming?"
I shrugged. "She has a thing with a friend."
"Or she's in trouble. Look." Andy pointed behind me and we watched her crawl out from her window. She had changed her clothes, so she was wearing all black. She looked over her shoulder only once, not seeing us, and took off running.
"We should go help her." I started, keeping my eyes on her.
"Joe's already on it." I turned around quick to see Joe sprinting the other way to get his car. When he came back, we got in and chased after her.
We found ourselves in a secluded alleyway where she was pacing. We watched her mouth move as she talked to herself. I was ready to jump out of the van to go get her, when a shady person came up to her from the other side. First it started with an argument and then it took a drastic turn. She pulled out a gun and he grabbed a knife.
Obviously gun beats knife, but none of us were sure. Andy had to hold me back from trying to jump out of the van and save my friend. Then the shots. Two of them; loud and clear. My head shot up and she was standing over the body. She stooped down, looted him, and walked calmly away, leaving a note behind.
That's when I finally got out of Andy's grasp and leapt out of the van. I grabbed her arm and dragged her back. She didn't struggle when she realized who it was. As soon as we were inside, no one said a word.
Finally, she piped up. "I guess I should tell you what I really do. I'm a professional hitman and bodyguard. I also help keep bands like you in business. What that means is, if there is someone who could destroy you, I destroy first. He was going to buy out your contract and then hire someone to kill you all, one by one. So I killed him first."
We all blinked in silence, unsure of what to say. Joe was the first one to say, "How long have you been doing this?"
She laughed nervously. "Since you really started gaining traction. You guys knew I was training to be a Marine and then I was rejected. Well, it was to become your bodyguard/hitman. I've been protecting you and your music and your fandom for years now without you knowing."
"So that's why you couldn't come to your celebration party?" Pete mumbled.
She looked confused. "Celebration party? Was that the party you were talking about Patrick?" She looked at me and I nodded, biting my lip softly. Her expression softened. "Aww guys, you didn't have to do that for me."
"But you do so much for us! We had to do something for you." Andy objected and I nodded.
"Just being the amazing guys you are is reward enough." She smiled.
I hugged her. "Be careful, okay?" I whispered in her ear.
She laughed slightly. "I always have been."
The other guys joined the hug and we sat there for a few minutes before driving her home so she could get ready for her party.
