I remember being in elementary and writing poems at least every week. I had a little note book, a pencil, and a deep thought in my head. I remember loving the flow of words and how they looked on a page. I would draw pictures to accompany my poetry and look at life from a youthful mind.

I don't remember when I stopped, but I must have been about thirteen. The hardships encountered in life started to hit me and I veered down a road I never really wanted to enter. I must have forgotten what it was like to look into my heart and pull thoughts, wonder, and dreams from my deep. Seeing through the eyes of someone who was free.

But since then I've found a light in the dark.

And as I am learning to once again look inside myself, and rediscover the identity I was created with; I plan to start poetry where I left off, to continue exploring thoughts, wonders, and dreams and show the contrast of Light & Dark in this life.

So to all who read this collection of poems, I hope you enjoy and thank you for reading.

Sincerely,

LizzieBeth Joy
