Rebecca woke up like any other morning. She checked her phone to see it was only 6am. There was a notification which she quickly looked at. It was her tagged in an image by Harry. It showed a picture of them sitting on the bench from yesterday. She smiled briefly before getting up for some breakfast. She felt a presence behind her as she went into the fridge for some milk.

"You're dating that boy again aren't you?" The shadow showed herself, revealing to be her mum.

"I.. Yes, but he's changed, he makes me happy," Rebecca replied turning around and pouring the milk into a glass.

"The same boy? The one who cheated on you, the same one who broke your heart, the boy that started this whole mess in the first place? You wouldn't of gotten depression in the first place if he didn't break your heart. So the first sight of him you just fall in his arms forgetting all he did and just say he's changed?" Her mother stood there gazing down at her with a displeased look on her face. Rebecca looked back at her and sighed.

"Yes it's him, but I believed that he has changed." She put the milk back in the fridge and looked back at her mum.

"Well of course he's changed.. Heck we all change whether we like it or not. Just because he's nice now doesn't mean he'll stay this way, in a few weeks he'll get tired of you again and break your heart again, leaving you to pick up the pieces that you've had to pick up before. It will be a vicious cycle of you picking up pieces and falling for him again just so he can break your heart and you'll be sitting there picking up those same pieces again." Her mum said starting to walk upstairs. She turned around and looked at Rebecca on final time.

"It's up to you, but love can sometimes be more painful than you first think, and memories are best left to be what they are... Just memories and nothing more." She said, sorrow filling her eyes and voice.

Rebecca sat on the table pondering over what her mother had told her. She sat there gazing into her glass for what seemed like an eternity, she saw bubble slowly pop like lovers breaking apart just to be replaced by a new bubble. Her mind flicked through every word, she felt so much truth in each word. She saw a tiny splash in her glass as she felt a teardrop fall. Her mother was right, what if he went back to the way he used to be and break her heart again? She felt a vibration from her pocket, she checked her phone to see it was another notification. There were 20 comments on the image, and all of them were negative towards her and their relationship. She flicked through all the comments to see a face she recognized. It was the girl he left Rebecca for. Rebecca gasped softly at the words she saw. It read: 'Wow you cheated on me with her? I thought you would at least have some standards!' She let that sink in for a while before she realized something. Was she dating a taken guy?

She ran into her room and laid on her bed reluctantly holding back tears. She sighed softly as she started to sniffle. She pushed her head deep into her pillow and sobbed softly into it, muffling her tears. She pulled away and looked down at her tear soaked pillow. 'What did I do to deserve all this?' She thought to herself solemnly. She wiped away the tears from her eyes and sat upright. She looked over at her clock to see that three hours had passed her by. She checked her phone again to see that she had no more messages, not even from Harry... Shouldn't he of given her a morning message by now? Well if he was cheating on her then, of course, he wouldn't message her. How could she of fallen for him again after this short amount of time?

She looked at her mirror. Her eyes were no longer laden with tears. She splashed her face before looking back at the mirror. 'No I mustn't fall into this pit again, I need to just move on. I did ok last time, I just need others to help me out of this pain.' She breathed in and submerged her head back into the water for a while. She contemplated keeping her head underwater and just letting go of life. She felt her vision turn to black before seeing herself crying on a bench at what looked like her old school. She saw herself sitting there sobbing while everyone on the playground ignored her. The teachers were standing outside the school canteen drinking and chatting casually with each other. They would glance over to her occasionally but would ignore her otherwise. She stopped crying and sniffling as a group of girls walked passed her smirking towards her. She saw herself looking towards her direction before her surroundings slowly turned to black again.

She must have kept her head in there for too long as the next moment she found herself lying on the bathroom floor gasping for air. She rolled over spluttering before she dragged herself off the floor. She looked at herself in the mirror.

"I forgot... I had to put up with that alone, and I'm going to have to put up with this alone for a while longer." She said before propping herself better against the sink. "No, I may be all alone and have been cheated on twice, by I will go on with my life. If he doesn't message me this weekend I'm going to storm round there and give him a piece of my mind. But tonight I'm going to plan for a party to forget him and all he's done, I might even find myself a guy and give him a taste of his own medicine. Yeah, that's what I will do, that will teach him. I don't need him, I'm strong enough without him." She said to herself sternly in the mirror. A small grin appeared on her lips.

As she walked out of the bathroom she checked her phone. She saw there were more messages but she ignored them and threw her phone onto the floor of her room as she went through her wardrobe. She grabbed some summer clothes and looked at herself in the mirror complementing herself mentally. She walked out of her room with confidence, she put her earphones in and started playing her favourite music. She ran down the stairs cheerfully and walked out of her door. She was so engrossed in her music that she didn't hear her parents shouting at each other. She also didn't see her mum run out the kitchen in tears. Rebecca kept walking out the house and down to the nearby meadow.

She found herself walking into a clearing filled with a multitude of red and yellow flowers. She inhaled softly feeling the wind brush through her hair. As she walked deeper into the clearing she felt the presence of someone behind her. She shrugged it off thinking it was just a dog walker as she passed through another section of the meadow. She sighed softly taking out her earphones and listening to the birds chirping and the morning. She continued across the meadow before coming to a complete stop. She felt lost as she looks around, trees surrounded her every from every direction. She was surrounded by silence, she heard a footstep behind her coming closer. She started panicking as the footsteps came closer and closer to her. She backed herself against a tree and looked towards the direction of the footsteps, she saw a glimpse of the shady figure before they stopped. They turned and looked right at her, she gasped quietly to herself as she saw the figures dark blue eyes stare right through her.

"So, all alone in the woods. No sign of your boyfriend, nowhere to hide." The shady figure spoke softly grinning walking closer...
