Chapter 1: Day 1

So, I wake up on the couch, there's Aetos and Fidi too, spreading their stinky legs all over me. So, I get up, look around me. It was quiet. So, I look at the wall-clock and the time was 7:00 A.M. I was concentrating on the clock's ticking. The more I heard the ticking, the more I got lost into my thoughts, I could hear nothing but the ticking. Eventually, The ticking was muted in my mind and I enter my thoughts. I remembered the moment when I was in school. "Wentworthville High School", one of the finest schools in Australia. It's only the name, the students in it are the ones who made it worse. There were good people, but there were more bad ones. When I first joined the school in my sixth grade with my friends Aetos and Fidi, we got bullied a lot. They snatched our food. It became my daily routine to just get food to my bully, his name was Oscar. He was a 11 year old, fat , huge boy with a ball cut. I would get hit, in PLACES, you know what I mean, reader. So, one day me, Aetos and Fidi thought that we'd end this. So, we went to school, as always, Oscar stopped us. He just gave us a cruel look and he expected us to give him our lunch instead Fidi kicked him in his balls we all three started running. Poor guy Oscar, took a while to adjust his position and started running. That's when we realized our true power. We could just hit him and start running, fat guy can't even catch us. After all these thoughts, I hear the clock's ticking back again and I hear Fidi's voice "Lykos! Lykos ! are you there?! What are you thinking?" . That's when I stop thinking and say "Yeah, Yeah, Nothing, I was just looking at the clock". So we get up, fresh ourselves up and start making some bread and cheese to eat. The day goes, we were still watching Netflix , continuing yesterday's series' and that's when we hear a sound from the outside. It was the sound of something breaking glass. We all hear the sound, look at each others' faces in shock and rush out to look what happened and what we saw was heartbreaking. My dad's sweet mustang classic of '68 has a broken windshield, We went out to look what hit that. There was nothing outside the car. So, I went to look at the broken glass and inside the car, I found a box. My first thought was maybe that's the box which was thrown into the car which broke the glass, but the other question was "Who would do that?!". We had no idea, so we clean up the mess, and get the box inside the house with us. We turned off Netflix, put all the things off the table and put the box there. It was a metal box with a envelope attached  to it with a bunch of colorful rubber bands. So, we were nervous, I mean it's the 21st century and we're teenagers and we have watched every goddamn sci-fi, thriller and horror movies. This is how they begin. So, we look at each other and think what to do, Aetos says "Let's just open the box man" so without further stupidity, we only opened the envelope, and my god that was the worst thing we ever did. The envelope said "Hey! Don't freak out. Didn't mean to disturb you but you're the only house who has electricity here, the whole city is in dark, we are not even receiving signals to call people, Can you do us a favor? If you guys have a running internet connection can you please open the box, there are a few phone numbers in them. Can you call up those numbers and tell them to come to this address? "#3 , 2nd block, 252nd Avenue street" It will be a lot helpful. Thanks" . We freaked out for a bit. Aetos said "No! Nope! Never! Throw away the fucking box and let's just not talk about it ever again okay?!" But we later thought to give it a try. We were scared a lot. But we didn't touch the box till the night, we just kept looking at it, roaming around the house in tension, ate a lot of junk. It was 8:00 P.M. when I finally decided that I would open the box. Aetos and Fidi freaked out. They said, "No, Let's think about it once again,Lykos, I mean, We still have many years to live". So even I agreed with them, we waited even more, eventually we slept. I woke up in the middle of the night, I was thirsty, the time was 12:00, just the time when the ghosts from a horror movie start their wicked plans, except there was no ghost. I had no thoughts in my mind that time. Literally, I was thinking nothing, The only thing I wanted to do was to quench my thirst with a glass of cold water. So, I enter the kitchen, open the fridge, grab the coolest bottle I could find and drank the water. It was like I was drinking water from god's personal bottle. It was the best feeling. I then took the bottle and went near the window to enjoy the view and drink the water, I find darkness, there was no electricity in the town! Only we had electricity. It was pure dark all around. So, My thoughts hit me hard and I remember the box! So, without Aetos and Fidi knowing about it, I slowly went to the living room, where the box is kept. I look at the box on the table, "Is it right what I'm doing?!", was the only question in my mind. But I was like "Nah, fuck it, let's just open the damn box, how worse can it get? So I open the box slowly and look at it's contents.....
