Chapter 2 :The night I opened the box

Well, I slowly opened the box. There were some contents in it. There was a paper slip with something written on it, a city map, a torch, and another paper with some numbers written in a bad writing, it looked like a phone number. I looked at the other paper slip, which I first spoke about and that blew my mind. There were some 4 phone numbers written on it. Now, you might be thinking what's so shocking about phone numbers. The phone numbers were mine, Aetos' and Fidi's. I don't know the fourth person. There were more contents in it but I was scared to explore the box. It was 12:40 A.M. I woke Fidi up. "Damn man, it's midnight, why the hell you wakin' me up?" said Fidi. I gave a poker face look to her and grabbed her hand and pulled her to the living room. I told her what I saw, I then woke Aetos up and did the same. They were shocked and nervous. "Is this some kind of a prank?! I really don't like it" said Aetos. "Who would be doing this to us? I have so many contacts, we can't tell who's doing this". Then I told them that It's dark outside, no electricity, we're the only house with lights. "Well, that's good news, what's wrong with that" . Then I told Aetos to remember the note that we read yesterday. It said "Your house is the only one with electricity" but none of this happened yesterday, there was no power cut, there was no darkness. everything from the paper note, is happening NOW. We freaked out. We didn't know what to do. We just sat on the couch in the living room looking at the box for hours without even talking to each other, eventually we fell asleep. The next day, I woke up. I found myself on the same couch on which I slept yesterday. Aetos and Fidi were still asleep. I enter the kitchen, open the fridge, get myself some milk to drink and some cereal to eat. Aetos woke up, he came to me and said "Man, forget what happened yesterday, we're all good now, even the neighbors have electricity. But that was not the thing that was buzzing my mind. When the electricity was gone, there was no light around. The people in the houses didn't even lit a candle stick. It was pure darkness. I told this to Aetos and he had a theory which made sense "It was 12:30 A.M. you idiot, everyone was asleep". It actually made sense but it was still bugging around in my mind. Everyone would not be asleep! At least someone like me had woke up that night at the same time to drink water! The day was passing by, but I couldn't stop thinking about it. Fidi and Aetos were having fun whereas I was lost in my own world.I couldn't bare it. So, I went to my room when Aetos and Fidi were busy chilling on Netflix. I opened up my laptop and checked trending news. The first one said "Passing of Halley's comet from Australia was scintillating but there was a huge power cut as it led to the breakdown of power stations and there were no signals so no one could picture it. It passed through Sydney, Melbourne, Wentworthville said the experts etc". But even more questions started bugging me "Why did only my house have electricity then?", "Where did that box come from? The Future!?" I had no idea what was going on. That's when I did some research on comets. No evidence was found for paranormal activities but when I searched it in the mythological libraries of web, I found many theories. It said that when a comet or a celestial body passes above your living place, in the space above, strange things happen. In 1920, A person witnessed strange things due to the passing of a comet. He had things which already happened, repeat again. He later committed suicide. In 1934, Due to passing of a meteoroid above the planet, a girl of New York got skin diseases. No one knows whether they were really caused by the passing of the comet, or some other reason. Even after doing all this research, I still had no Idea, I was still in the same shock. By the time I came down to the living room, I saw someone beautiful, It was Tiria, my crush. "hey Tiria! what a surprise , when did you come?" I asked. "Oh! You're friend Fidi called me up. She said that you guys are having a good time and It would be great If I joined so I came over". I was happy, Maybe her presence will get me out of this shock. . It was 2:00 P.M. We were having lunch, none of us (me , Aetos , Fidi) uttered a word about yesterday's strange things, I mean Aetos looked like as If nothing happened yesterday, he was joyful but Fidi, she was happy in the morning but now she looks a bit dull. So, I had my lunch and I gestured her to come out to the living room when she's done with her lunch. She had her lunch and she came to the living room. I thanked her "Fidi, thanks a lot, dude for inviting Tiria, the whole day I was in shock , now I'm feeling better because of her" . Fidi didn't react to his, she didn't even respond, I thought maybe she was jealous because I was only talking to Tiria from when she came here. But that was not the reason, Fidi quietly went to the living room and told me to follow her, so I went, she opened the box, I was freaking out, she showed the paper slip with the four phone numbers on them. I had no idea what she was doing. She then came to my ear and whispered "It is Tiria's number". I totally freaked out.......
