"Jean, let go,"

-ˋˏ ༻❁༺ ˎˊ-

The explosion outside shook the building.

Kurt collapsed to the floor, unconscious.

"Is he okay?" Scott asked, rushing to kneel beside him.

Natalie knelt down too, brushing damp hair from Kurt's forehead. "It's his energy. He's drained," she said softly, voice thick with concern.

A sudden outburst shattered the quiet.

"Get out!" Charles jolted upright, his voice panicked and raw. "Get out! Get out of my head!"

"Professor, hey—hey—it's okay," Jean rushed to his side, gently pressing her hands to his shoulders. "You're with us."

Charles's breathing slowed. He looked around wildly before his eyes met Natalie's. Her hand found his, and he held it tightly, grounding himself. She gave him a small, encouraging smile.

He relaxed, leaning back against the wall. "I'm sorry," he whispered.

Natalie sat beside him, still holding his hand. His fingers trembled as he brought her knuckles to his lips and kissed them with gratitude, lingering longer than usual. Her eyes flicked away, emotion rising.

Suddenly, Charles jerked again, his attention pulled elsewhere.

"Charles!" a voice echoed from outside.

Natalie stood and looked out the shattered window. Her heart sank.

Apocalypse.

The air around him was thick with power.

He was being thrown by something. No—someone.

Peter.

But it didn't last. The ground came alive and wrapped around Peter's leg, yanking him down. Apocalypse approached, calm and cruel. Peter threw a punch—but Apocalypse caught it. With a sickening twist and a kick to the leg, bone cracked. Peter cried out in agony.

Natalie pressed a hand to her mouth, tears prickling. "Peter..."

Psylocke stepped forward, blade forming. Apocalypse gestured to Peter. A command.

But Psylocke hesitated. Then, without warning, she turned—her sword slashing across Apocalypse's throat.

He barely flinched. The wound healed in seconds.

With fury, he grabbed her by the throat, lifting her into the air.

Then... Raven appeared.

Her true form. Blue skin. Amber eyes. Unbowed.
