Chapter 5

~Lucy's POV~

When I exited the coffee shop, Erza was still there.

I woke up the next morning feeling better and more positive, the only reason being because I had a test in math and science, the only core classes I had today. I know most people hate tests, but all I hear when I hear the word test come out of a teacher's mouth is, "A day that we possibly won't have homework!"

Anyway, I forced myself out of bed, hating every second of it, and did all my morning routine thingies before heading out. I mumbled to myself while walking past the other rooms about various things, mostly unrestricted complaints when my phone buzzed. That was a first. I didn't know the number, but I glanced down at my phone anyway.

Have you done your weekly potato dance?

I read it out loud right as someone passed me and I guess they thought the question was for them even though I didn't know them because as they passed they looked me in the eye and answered, "Yes." Dead serious.

My brain was having a hard time processing this, but when it did, I was really confused. I had gotten the most bizarre text of all time from an unknown number, read it out loud and someone I didn't even know answered yes.

"What!?"

I couldn't help it. I tapped my phone screen, Who is this?

A moment passed of me standing in the middle of the hallway, my thoughts so scrambled I wasn't sure what I was saying. Your potato buddy.

Excuse me?

You heard me.

Technically I didn't hear you, I read your response.

I still don't know who this is.

I'll give you a hint.

I live on Earth.

"I knew it!" I shouted out loud. Someone yelled at me to shut up from inside their room. "You shut up," I said, probably louder than necessary.

HOW'D YOU GET MY NUMBER!?!?

She told me not to tell.
