~Lucy's POV~
I stepped out of my dorm with my key ring in hand. I had collected keys since I was little. My mom had given me three little gold keys with zodiac symbols on them. She called them Cancer, Aquarius, and Capricorn. I never went anywhere without them and by now I had ten gold keys each with a zodiac symbol on them. I had a few other silver keys that I also named after constellations. I think, in a way, doing this honored my mom and her love for stars.
I rambled on to myself while I exited the dorm, people looking at me and glancing at the keys swinging in my hands. Well, I guess everyone now knew my entire key story. And then I realized that at this point, I couldn't care less.
I walked to the boys' dorm with a skip in my step. I glanced at a group of boys entering and then remembered. "Wait, how am I supposed to get in the boys' dorm when I'm a girl."
I felt my phone vibrate in my hand.
Since you're a girl, you'll have to go through the window. My room is 391, it's on the third floor. Ninth from the right end.
How in the world do you expect me to climb up to the third floor..?
I sent the quick text and made the resolve to just walk in and say what I needed. It was for academic purposes so they had to let me in... Right?
There's a tree by my window you can climb.
I rolled my eyes and just didn't respond to that one.
When I walked in I saw a somewhat scraggly looking man standing by the elevator. He had dark orange hair that went down to his shoulders, and a short beard that clearly hadn't been groomed in a while.
"Do you need something, Miss?" he asked looking at me a bit strangely.
"Guildarts," I muttered under my breath, seeing a worn name tag.
"That's my name, don't wear it out," Guildarts said confidently. "Anyways, I don't really think a pretty lady like yourself should be in here, so what do ya need?"
I grimaced when I realized he just flirted with me. Guildarts had a guilty look for a moment before apologizing. "Sorry, I'm here to help someone study for a science test," I said. "I think he's in room 391."
I caught Guildarts glancing at my butt and shivered. I wasn't sure how old this guy was, but he was at least fifteen years older than me if not more. He gave me the guilty look again. "Are you looking for Gray or the new guy?"
"His name is Natsu, but okay," I rolled my eyes involuntarily. I sighed and looked at the ground in shame of my rude statement, "Sorry," I said. "I guess I'm looking for 'the new guy.'"
Guildarts looked at me strangely. "You're a weird one, aren't ya?"
I sighed again, "Yeah, I guess."
Guildarts just glanced at me and said, "Honestly, I don't really care, you can go see him."
"Okay, thanks." I said simply before heading to the elevator.
I heard a quiet whistle behind me, and I glanced back to see Guildarts staring at my butt again. My face flushed and I hurried into the elevator with my keys jingling, pushing the close button hurriedly.
I glanced at my phone.
Hey, are you coming already?
I shook my head and didn't respond as the elevator lurched upwards causing me to grab the bar beside me lightly.
A quiet beep pierced the relative silence in the small metal box as the two doors slid open smoothly. I proceeded to walk down the quiet hall. I scanned the right side of the hallway where all of the odd numbered doors were lined up. I finally came across door 391. I felt a strangely warm current of air circulate from the crack under the door.
