Alone is what keeps you alive, or so you had been telling yourself through the flickers of loneliness. You had lost track of how long you had been alone, time having little to no meaning during this mission you had taken up on yourself. Following dead leads though had become tiresome but a break had finally come your way. During a moment at lunch you shield had dropped and you caught a slip of a thought, a fleeting moment where you heard a familiar word. Racing after it you realized it was more then that, the rage and feelings surrounding the name you had come to despise taking your breath away. It hadn't taken you long to pinpoint the thoughts, he was nearly broadcasting them out. A few hours later you found yourself on a plane, heading to Argentina, a few rows behind the tall ginger man.

* "Aimeriez-vous une boisson mademoiselle?" the flight attendant asked you, startling you from your thoughts.

**"Une eau serait aimable, merci." You smiled, forgoing any alcohol to keep a clear head.

Accepting the water you sat back, settling it on the tray in front of you. Closing your eyes you tried to rest without falling asleep but before you realized it, the slight vibration had caused you to slip into unconsciousness.

You were running through the streets in avoiding peoples gazes as you stopped behind a dumpster, staring out into the market. You hated doing this but now that you were on your own you did what you had to do to survive. The nights were getting colder and the shelters filled up fast without the right amount of coin in your pocket. With ease you stretched your power, fingers moving slightly as you knocked over a heavy silver vase in one of the stands, causing a ruckus. As the merchant started yelling you carefully slipped a few coins from his pouch, sending them flying under the table and into your waiting hands. Clasping your hand around them you sunk back against the wall, out of sight until you heard everything calm down. Letting out a sigh of relief you turned to go when you were met with a pair of bright blue eyes and you froze in your tracks. The way they were glittering you knew that he had saw what you had done and you opened you mouth to started screaming when he covered it quickly.

"It's okay. I'm not going to say anything." He shushed you, your grey eyes wide and staring over his hand.

Your heart was pounding against your chest and when he realized you weren't going to scream bloody murder he removed his hand slowly. Rocking back on his heels he glanced around, making sure there was no one else around before settling those shockingly blue eyes on yours.

"Why are you stealing a few coins at a time? With a gift like that you could take it all and run?" he questioned, glancing at the coins clutched in your dirty hands.

"I don't want to steal." You whispered, eyes lowered in shame as you looked at the money, "But I don't want to freeze either."

"Why would you freeze?" he questioned, taking your hand and pulling to your feet.

"The shelters are full but if you have a few coins they'll squeeze you in." you admitted, your hand still tucked into his warm one, "I only take a few at a time, I doubt they'll be missed. Please sir just let me go and I swear I won't do it again."

"You're all alone out here?" he asked, taking his heavy coat and in a surpising gesture threw it over your shivering shoulders.

Nodding quickly you trembled, the warmth seeping through your thin dress, warming you up. He pulled you to his side as he started walking out of the alley and onto a side street. You wanted to resist but you were afraid to make a scene and cause him to alert the police.
