I was sitting at a table in Yu Wan's when the waitress came by. She was a fish girl but she definitely wasn't like the others I'd seen. She smiled at me with soft eyes and her cute little waitress uniform. "Hello!" the girl chimed, "My name is Minette! I will be your waitress for the day!"
"H... Hi...." I couldn't help but drool a bit as Minette was one of the most beautiful girls I'd ever seen.
"What will you have...."
"F.... Fish...." Minette blushed and looked away, clearly noticing I was staring a bit. I heard someone walk in but I was too busy staring to see who it was. I felt claws wrap around my throat. "Is there gonna be a purr-oblem?" I heard in a high yet silky voice. I felt one of the claws pierce skin and I started to panic. "N-no!" I said quickly. They let go and laughed.
"I was just messing with you!"
I looked up at Minette and she was red with anger.
"Nadia! You can't just do that because someone was staring!"
"Hey, I was just looking out for ya". I turned and got a look at the self-named prankster. They had a light blue crop top and and a black collar with a bell. They had tan skin with a white bob cut and blue eyes. Their pants were torn at the thigh and shins, being seperated into five parts. They had scars where joints would meet as if they were sewn together like a doll. She was clearly a Feral of the feline variety so her tail and ears weren't a surprise to me.
"You made her bleed!" Minette shouted. I felt where she had pierced my neck and sure enough there was a thick stream of blood going down my neck. I covered it and Minette ran back into the kitchen. The now named Nadia sat across from and started to drum on the table. She purred and her tail waved back and forth. I felt cold and Nadia looked at me. "Are you okay?" she purred.
"Yeah yeah.... Just a little light headed..." Nadia seemed to worry. Minette came in and her face became pale.
"Y-you're bleeding bad!" she yelped. I felt woozy and Nadia stood up. My vision tunneled and soon I blacked out.

I opened my eyes but my vision was foggy. I felt warm and I was under blankets. I was clearly at the hospital. My vision cleared and I was in an empty hospital room. I wasn't surprised. I sat up and looked around. An IV bag was connected to my arm and my neck was stitched shut. Must be worse than I thought. I sighed and waited.
The doctor came in and shook his head. "Another one..." he sighed. I arched an eyebrow. He saw me and looked surprised. "Oh, you're awake!"
"Was I... Not supposed to be?"
"You heal surprisingly well I guess... In any case, I believe this is the woman is the one who hurt you".
In walked Nadia, holding her hands behind her back. She waved guiltily and I looked at her confused. Why would she come back?
"I'm sorry.... I didn't mean to be a.... CLAWS for alarm". She snickered a bit before a police officer stepped up behind her. She went silent.
"She's here to beg for your forgiveness," the officer grumbled.
"I mean, she didn't do anything wrong?" Nadia's ears perked up and she looked at me, surprised. "She was protecting her friend - granted I wasn't doing anything".
"Do you know who this is?"
I shook my head.
"This is the notorious leader of the Fishbone Gang Nadia Fortune". I looked at her and shook my head again.
"Never heard of her". I couldn't tell if Nadia was offended or ecstatic. The police officer seemed furious.
"Well we can't pin you for any more crimes that you haven't talked your way out of..... You're free to go...." He walked off into the hall and Nadia whispered something to the doctor. He nodded and Nadia came in and closed the door behind her. I started to get nervous as she deviously smiled, walking up to me slowly. I scooted away and she sat on the bed next to me.
"Thanks for saving my skin," she purred, placing her hand in mine.
"L-listen, Nadia -"
"Fortune, just call me Fortune".
"- Fortune, I-I'm sorry about Minette. I-I didn't mean to freak her out..."
"It's okay, nobody's purr-fect". I giggled and Fortune smiled. She scratched her neck and her head tumbled off into my lap.
I screamed and Nadia tried to calm me down. "Don't freak out! Please don't! This happens all the time!"
"How are you still talking!?"
"This is me okay? Don't worry, I'm not a nyambie".
"Stop with the puns! What the hell is going on?!" She sighed and picked her head up.
"I... Kind of am a zombie..." she sulkily whispered.
"How are you still alive?"
"I have working body parts, in not rotting or anything... Lets just say I was saved by a magical.... Thing..." I thought for a second. Does she mean the Skullheart?
"Hopefully the stupid Medici's don't figure out I have that gem..." I sighed with relief and Nadia calmly put her head back on. She looked at me before chuckling awkwardly.
"Listen... I'm actually sorry for what I did, I'm hoping you leave this hospital as a new friend and not a corpse..."
"Either way you're leaving like that". Nadia grinned and took the Get Well Soon card off of some flowers my parents had left. She wrote her phone number on it and put it back.
"Call me when you get out," she purred, "hopefully this whole thing doesn't turn into a CAT-tastrophe". She stuck her tongue out and smiled.
"Puns aren't necessary right meow". She giggled before leaving. I looked at the card and blushed, happy as could be.
