A.N. I'm older than Cerebella IRL (not by much) but I'm gonna make myself sixteen in the story.
I waited in line, more excited than ever. I was ready to meet one of my childhood idols. I looked behind me and I was last in line. I was so giddy I didn't even notice the line had been moving. I ran up before a body guard cut me off. "W-wait! Please let me in! I just wanted to meet Cerebella!" I said hopelessly.
"Sorry kid, better luck next time".
"Please? Pretty please?" He shook his head and I looked down sadly.
"Don't be down kiddo, Cerebella ain't leavin the circus. You can see her next week". I nodded.
"I understand sir..." I started to walk away when I heard the door open.
"Is that the last of em?" a strong woman's voice spoke. It was rough yet soft. I knew it all too well. I turned around and Cerebella was peeking out the doorway. I saw the guard say something then point at me. My eyes brightened as Cerebella looked at me and flashed her showtime smile. "Come on in," she shouted. I quickly ran over and she smiled, letting me into the signing room. It had posters scrawled about the walls and soon it was just me and her in the room. "What can I do for ya? You seemed to wait for a long time".
"Yeah... I was in that line ever since the show ended".
"Hm... a long time on your feet". She thought for a second, putting her feet up on the merchandise table and grinning. "Tell ya what, I give you thirty minutes".
"A-are you sure miss?"
"Why not? You're the last one in line and I can't turn down a fan". I smiled wide and grabbed her hand, shaking it vigorously.
"Thank you so much!" The minutes flew by as we talked about nothing but her. She seemed a bit self-centered but I could've cared less. As the timer dinged, I frowned. "Can I have five more minutes?" I begged.
"Nope, sorry kiddo..." Cerebella shrugged, "Gotta go".
"Can you sign something for me? It's just a quick little thing, I can even pay".
"No need, I couldn't turn ya down after all we've talked about". I blushed and pulled out my phone. Taking off my phone case carefully, I pulled out a piece of folded paper and handed it to her. The picture was scratched but it was an old picture of Cerebella herself.
"I-it's honestly the only reason I haven't upgraded my phone..." I said nervously, "I wanted to keep using the phone case and just... I know it's stupid but I just can't get rid of childhood memories like this..." Cerebella seemed a bit surprised. She looked at me and smiled softly.
"What about the paper? That the receipt or something?" she jested. I blushed and shook my head. "Cool if I see it?" I nodded and handed her the paper diligently. She unfurled it and it was a crappy sketch.
"I did it back in middle school.... I-it's of you, me, and Beowolf... We're holding hands and..... Being friends..." I looked down completely flushed red with embarrassment.
"Wow..." Cerebella mumbled, before looking up at me, "You've really been a fan since I started huh?"
"Y-yes ma'am.... You know, j-just forget I even asked for a signature.... I-I should head back home..."
"You know there're a lot of orphans in New Meridian... You one of them?" I nodded quietly. Cerebella signed my phone case and then wrote something on the inside, blowing on it so it would dry. I took it back and put my phone back in it. Looking on the back I saw she signed it where her name had been since scratched out.
"Good as new eh?" she joked, shooting some finger guns and winking at me. I nodded and looked down nervously. "Look kid, you really know how to tug at the heartstrings, I can see what I can do about getting you to a Beowolf match 'kay?"
"Oh no... it's fine... I've got some tickets already... although all the people I've asked have turned me down..."
"Well how many ya got extra?"
"Th-three extra tickets..."
"Make that two, I'm goin' too. We could auction off the other two at the next circus act if the match is after it of course". My eyes brightened and Cerebella smiled down at me.
"You've got a genuine personality, I like that. Check the inside of your case when you get home too". I looked at the time and it was almost midnight. Cerebella turned to the merchandise table and took a bunch of stuff, putting it in a bag.
"If anyone asks you paid for this," she whispered, chuckling. I nodded and blushed before she pat me on the shoulder. Putting Vice-Versa back on her head, she stepped outside and dozens of people with cameras and microphones crowded around the door. Camera flashes went off as I tried to step out. As people crowded around me I panicked and started to stutter and babble like idiot. Soon, one of Vice-Versa's arms blocked all the cameras from seeing me. "Let the kid go," Cerebella said, flexing along with Vice-Versa, "Focus on the real star".
I looked up at Cerebella and she winked at me. I quickly left and ran back to my house. Closing the door, I saw Cerebella's phone number, along with a note on the back of my sketch.
You're a pretty damn good artist. Keep on doing what you're doing, I'm sure things will work out. Oh and don't worry about having friends. When it all comes down to it, you only need one. I smiled the widest I ever could and put the drawing away. I put my bag of merch down and entered Cerebella's number into my phone.A.A.N: This is by far my favorite chapter :3
