Bang!

Bang!

This is what I hear as I am running across the field. I hear gunshots too. They are firing all around me. I know I can't escape but something is telling me I have to get out. I wish the war never happened. I wish I was at home with my lovely wife,Patricia. But no I am here in this wasteland fighting an enemy that I know cannot be defeated. It is only a matter of time before I get hit and die. I know it. But I'm going to try at least. So I run across the battlefield towards the camp.

"Corporal!" Sergeant Lourey shouts.

I turn towards him he is running towards the action.

"Don't go over there!" I shout back.

He's probably going to get himself killed. I run towards the shelter and dive in and all the nurses and other officers turn towards me in shock.

"Are you ok?" A nurse asks.

"It's extremely dangerous out there." I reply back nervously.

I'm very sorry, Readers! I haven't had time to introduce myself properly. My name is Corporal Stephenson. I'm currently in France and the British are trying to push the Nazis back to stop them invading. I feel really bad for the Germans that had to become Nazis I bet many of them didn't want to. Like me. I'd rather be at home drinking tea or listening to the wireless.
I hate the army! When I was only 16 I had been forced to join. Now I'm 21 and I'm still fighting! I really don't want to. However, people like Sergeant Lourey don't really care. Sergeant Lourey is really really full of himself. He always boasts to everyone about how he is a Sergeant! I'm a Corporal not the lowest but lower. I also have two friends in my platoon Private Colton and Corporal Macefield.
Private Colton is really really nice. He's a great guy and a good soldier. He is sometimes very shy though. Soon he will be getting promoted to Corporal which will be really awesome. Next let's talk about Corporal Macefield,he used to be an engineer before he joined the army and he is really smart. Also, he's probably the funniest guy in my unit. Maybe that's why I'm friends with him.
