"Azrael," I tensed up. His glare grew colder. "What are you doing here?"

"I'm just checking up on you," he replied, his voice icy. "Just making sure that you were still...in one piece."

"I one piece?" I raised an eyebrow. "Why would I-"

"You saw what happened earlier."

The words caught me by surprised. "Yeah, but...you did it..." My voice trailed off.

"You really don't believe that, do you?"

I sighed. Of course I didn't. I couldn't really explain it, but the look on their faces, and just the way it was done. Neither Azeroth nor Azrael would do it. It's not good for the games. After all, they were the dealers, the shepherds, not the wolfs. They wouldn't kill a sheep for no reason.

"Fine," I crossed my arms. "Then who did it? You know, don't you?"

"You know I can't tell you," Azrael replied.

"No," I objected. "It's not in the rules. This mystery person isn't a wolf, and if he is, this murder isn't in the game. Or maybe...you're follow a different set of rules-?"

And suddenly, I was pinned up against the metal wall, with his arm pinning my throat. His ice cold glare piercing me.

"Shut. The. Fuck. Up. Amir," he growled.

I smirked weakly, trying to look braver than I felt. "Or what? I didn't break any rules. You can't kill me." I really did hope this was true.

Azrael suddenly stopped, his face softening. "You're right," he whispered. And then, he did something that truly terrified me.

His lips curled into a dark smile before it was pressed up against mine.

For a moment, I didn't do anything, I just stopped, processing it, before thrashing around. I couldn't get out, and the kissing only got more violent.

And suddenly, I felt him push something into my mouth and, before I could stop it, slid down my throat.

He let me go, and I fell to the floor, coughing and hacking, as Azrael stood over me.

"When you wake up," he began. His face was the most emotionless face I had ever seen, like a mask made of ice. "Come back with a little more manners. Hope you can wake up before midnight."

"Oh...shit..." My words slurred together as I collapsed onto the floor. My eyelids became heavier and heavier. "You...bastard..."

He gave me a sleeping drug.

I began crawling towards him, but I was too weak, too tired, and fell back onto the ground. Darkness surrounded me quickly.

And I didn't even realize that I was already gone.

***

"Amir!"

I gasped, my eyes flinging open, but I didn't see anything. It was dark.

And for a minute, I thought I had gone completely blind.

That thought made me start to cry. It was an irrational fear, but I had it for so long. Being blind was my worst fear.

But then I felt hands tug at the back of my head, and I was able to see again.

A tie.

With tears still falling down my face, I looked up at my savior.

Rima.

He grabbed my hand and helped me sit up. It took me a moment to realize that I was still in the escape room, but there were no more life boats.

Damnit!

A sudden headache exploded, making me grit my teeth, a mix of pain and anger swirling within me.

"What time is it?" I asked.

Rima looked at his watch. "It's almost ten pm."

Ten?! I was asleep for seven hours?! I was so pissed off. They had played me. There weren't any rules on taking things, or making people fall asleep. We were played by them.

No, I was played by them.

I was so deep in thought that I didn't even notice that Rima was taking me somewhere until we were outside. The cold wind blew gently against me and out into the dark night.

"Where...are we going...?" I asked, still dazed from the drugs. The fresh air did help, though, and I took a deep breath in.

Rima smiled sadly. "You look so worn out," he told me. "So I'm going to help you calm down. After all, it's good to work, but you need a break, you know? To let your feelings out and calm down."

"I can't," I argued. "We only have two hours left. We need to go explore-"

"And everyone has been doing it all day. You were the only one that was asleep."

"I was?" That was odd. I had thought that they had put everyone to sleep because they didn't want us exploring. If it was only me, then it was personal.

They didn't want me to see something.

But of course, that was only my assumption. I had no evidence, and it could have been for whole another reason

But even so...

We had arrived at the back deck, where Rima pushed me down on a chair before sitting next to me. It seemed as if his violet eyes glowed in the dark, staring right through me, but seeing nothing.

Nothing but a reject.

I shook my head.

My eyes my eyes my eyes.

Failed version.

Rima 2.0.

I had no time for this!

"Amir," Rima grabbed onto my shoulders. "The truth is, I needed to talk with you."

That shook me out of my thoughts.

"What is it?" I asked. "Are you okay?"

Rima smile sheepishly. "Actually, that's what I wanted to ask you," he cleared his throat. "Ever since that day with your...eyes..you've been avoiding me. To tell you the truth, I wanted to talk to you about it. You still...haven't told me what happened. We're two sides of the same coin, you know. I don't want you to be burdened."

I paused for a moment before smiling. "Thank you, but I'm fine. I...just don't like being in the rich life. After all, you have so many talents, and I barely have any-"

"That isn't true!" Rima shouted. "You're freaking amazing! Brave, strong, confident, and overly kind. I just...want to be with you. I want to help you..."

I stood up and grinned. "I'm fine," is what I told him. "I promise."

Rima gave me a look that showed that he didn't believe me.

Liar.
