Chapter 5

Today we had a group meeting in me and Aloysius's room. We told the group about his plan. The boys were like, "cool plan dood." and the girls were like, "are you kidding me?! Scarlet u actually agreed to this?"

"Um yeah. I mean he's mah buddy. I don't wanna see him sad," I blushed.

"oh my god I'm lost like what the hell. Where the hell IS my room anyway. WHY does this school have to be so confusing? Ugh first day and I'm already lost!" A voice behind our 'circle' muttered.

I turned my head to look for that voice. A girl with shoulder length hair, nerdy spectacles and one cap on her head looked really frustrated.

"Hey, would you like some help?" I used my kindest voice possible. When she saw me, her eyes lit up with relief.

"Oh gosh yes please! Um I'm kinda new here. My name is Thea. And as you can see... I'm lost," She said in a quick tone.

"Scar who are you...," Oscar cut off, "Who's that?"

"Um that's Thea. She says she's lost. I'm gonna take her to her room," I replied awkwardly.

"I'll come with you," Aloysius offered and I nodded. He stood up and grabbed my hand. At first I didn't get it, I pushed his hand away and frowned at him. Then he whispered, "Remember?" Then I was okay.

"Okay lets go Thea. This is my..."

"Boyfriend. I'm Aloysius," He cut me off.

Okkayyy so he's my boyfriend to everyone except our group.

"Nice to meet you. Oh right my room number is 69 is that near yours or anything?" She asked. I almost wanted to burst out laughing for one reason. 69...

"Oh right! Actually one of my friend is currently living in that room!" I cringed at the word 'friend'.

"That's right. Its quite near ours," Aloysius said noticing my discomfort. I mean seriously, I am fake dating him and this new girl just HAD to be in his ex's room. What the hell?

We took Thea to her room, helped her unpack and told her where the canteen was and where the school was. After that we gave a call to Yasmine telling her we would see the rest later for dinner since we had to talk in our room.

*back in the room*

"Okay so let's get some things straight..." Aloysius sighed. We came up with a few things:

1. We are 'officially' dating in public

2. When Angela gets out of the hospital, we have to act really lovey dovey.

3. We will still be friends out of public

4. keep this secret to only our group

5. Try to make it 'super official' meaning we have to hold hands and all. (we're making this clear to the group later on)

Honestly, if Angela doesn't get jealous at all I'm not even sure what to do.

"Okay so we just gotta keep it secret eh?" Oscar asked.

"Yeah and please remember what the 'rules' are," Aloysius stared at him. And he nodded.

We spent the rest of the day daring each other to do crazy impossible things and it was quite fun.

I was about to fall asleep when I remember the letter with my name on it. I quickly got Aloysius to wake up and read his.

"I'm kinda scared," I admitted to him

"Okay we'll open it together alright?" He comforted.

"1"

"2"

"3"

And I opened mine.

It said:

Dear Scarlet,

You are a precious girl and a very good student. Don't let anything distract you from your fate.

Please Scarlet, you have to listen to me. Bad people are coming. Yes bad people. Mr Andrews killed Angela because she was part of a secret gang that drugged many people into doing things with them. I think you know what those "things" are. If you are thinking sex then yes you are right. Aloysius was one of the victim.

You have to protect you and your friends. That gang doesn't only target guys, they target girls too. You must be wondering who is this person writing a letter to you. I can't tell you. And if you want answers you have to look for them. Your friends each got a letter too, whether they have read it or not you get them and run. Find Mr Andrews and run.

That's all I can tell you for now. Along the way, letters will find you. You must read them straight away. Don't fall into people's traps and do not trust anyone. I repeat, do not trust anyone.

I put down the letter and waited for Aloysius to finish reading it. When he finished he just put down the paper and stared at me.

"Let me read yours. I'll let you read mine," He said. I took his paper and gave him mine.

It said:

Dear Aloysius,

By now I'm guessing that Angela has already drugged you but I think you have snapped out of it.

As you know, Scarlet has received a letter just like you. And I bet you two would be exchanging letters. Your friends would also be receiving a letter. Angela was part of a gang.

Along the way, you will be receiving letters. All I can say now is.. run. run as fast as you can. Get your friends and go.

Dm... Why did that sound so familiar.

"Scarlet, we need to go. You know that right?" Aloysius looked at me.

"How do we know if we can trust D or what? Dm?" I argued.

"Okay lets just... get our friends. By the way um... about the girlfriend thing. Lets just.... forget about it alright?" He asked awkwardly.

I nodded, "okay."
