This time of year is always the most chaotic. The weeks leading up to halloween are insane.Between decorating the inside and outsideof the house and setting up the halloween maze out in the back, our family went Halloween. All that work for just one day; was it all necessary? Was one day worth the weeks of preparation?
ABSOLUTELY! Halloween is the best day of the year. For children it ment dressing up and getting free candy, and as kid grows the candy turns to alcohol and the costumes are a must; especially at my halloween party.
"Elle!" Jannat yells from the kitchen calling for her 9 year old daughter. Jannat continues to make her classic skeleton pizza that she has been making since her first halloween in the big apple.
"ELLE!" Jannat yells when she realises that her daughter was not with her. She was probably putting together last minute decorations with her father. Jannat sighs and stops making the pizza. As much as Jannat loves halloween she loves baking with her daughter more.
"Mom?" The little 8 year old calls out standing infront of her mother in her adorable Alice costume.

"Well dont you look adorable; did dad help you put on your costume?" Jannat asks picking up her daughter and putting on the kitchen counter.
The little girl shakes her head aggressively, "Nope, Im a big girl now. I don't need help."
Jannat smiles and pokes the little girls nose before motioning to all the pizza topics laid put on the counter beside her. "Well I do need your help making the pizza before anyone arrives."
Smiling the little girl sprinkles cheese on the pizza, " I can't wait to see everyones costume. What do you think Luke will dress up as? Or penny? Or uncle Ted?"
"Well I don't know what they are going to be this year. But hey did ypu know your uncle dressed up as a hanging chad for 3 years in a row." Jannat explains putting on some sauce on the pizza skull she is working on.
Elle gives her a confused look, " he was a what?"
"It's when you vote for something but your vote doesn't count." Jannat explains.
"That's not a very good costume!" Elle exclaims.
"No, no it isn't." Jannat replies smilling as she remembers the old days of Ted trying tp find love.
"Then why did he dress up like that for every year," Elle asks confused.
Jannat chuckles, "thats a long story sweetie." Jannat says before she explains the story of the slutty pumpkin, well the g rated version of the story which is known as the pretty pumpkin.
