He saw Lance's eyes open.

"K - Keith?" Lance's voice was so quiet. It had a raspy undertone from coughing so much.

"Hey buddy. Glad you're up."

Lance suddenly took in a deep breath of air.

"I... I can breathe!" Lance's smile was as wide as a mile. "Keith! I can breathe again!" Lance sat up and grabbed the shorter boy's shoulders, lightly shaking him.

"Keith you - you fixed me! You saved me! this - this means you love me back, right?"

A small smile tugged at Keith's lips.

"How else would you be alive?"
