THE WRECK

"I don't think we'll make it through this storm, captain!" Hunk shouted, looking up at the sky filled with dark clouds.

"We can't give up! There have been mermaid sightings in this area! We have to make it through or the king won't let us back into Altea!" Lance ordered.

"Listen, you're both being unreasonable. We are going to turn this ship around, or we won't survive. We're going back to Altea. If we can't go there, we'll move to Arus or one of the Balmeran cities." Pidge offered, pushing up their glasses.

"We can't go back!"

"Why not?!"

"Because the king thinks I'm crazy! I said there were mermaids out here, so he sent me out here to find one and if I did, I would bring it back and be accepted into society as the world's greatest pirate!" Lance reasoned.

"Fine. We'll go through the storm and DIE." Pidge sighed.

"Sounds good to me!" Hunk shouted.

Seconds later, rain started to fall.

"Look what you've done!" Pidge shrieked, running over to the now soaked map. "Our map is ruined!"

Thunder boomed overhead.

"I don't think this is a very nice storm." Hunk said, backing away from the front of the boat.

"No shit, Sherlock!" Pidge shrieked again. "It ruined my map! Mother nature, why must you hate us so?!"

Lightning struck the side of their boat, causing them to turn off course and a chorus of screams to be unleashed. The boat hit a large rock, damaging the side and causing more stress.

"WE'RE GONNA DIE!! LANCE, HOLD ME!!" Hunk screamed, clinging to Lance's side.

"HUNK GET OFF-"

"GUYS STOP MESSING AROUND AND HELP ME!" Pidge shouted, trying to save their equipment from falling overboard.

Lance pushed hunk off him and ran to help pidge. The boat was rocking, causing everyone to lose their balance.

Pidge, being the lightest, almost fell off but held onto Lance's hand for stability.

"Pidge! I got you!" Lance shouted, terror in his eyes and rain cascading down his face as if he was crying.

"No, you don't!" Pidge retorted as the boat rocked back their way causing them to let go of Lance and hit a rock on their way into the raging waters.
