midnight Texas: the new town

Chapter 1: the angel

I felt a furry face touch mine face and i slowly open my eye. There was my little puppy snow on top of me and her blue eyes looked at me ." Hey Snow, you hungry" i said as snow jump off the bed . I slowly got out bed and i walk to the window " i forgot how pretty the lake is in the morning " i said " i know " a voice said behide me. I turn around and there was my grandma in the door way " your mother love this room and that why i gave you it " she said as i walked to her "come on, and lets get you and snow something to eat" she said as me and her went down stairs towards the kitchen. Grandma gave Snow her food and then she made me food " can you get a plate for your food " she said " yeah " i said as i went to the cabinet and got a plate out . I was on my way back to hand my grandma the plate when a vision came . I saw an angel in the sky for a few mins and then a few mins later he was falling . " Carina " a voice said as the vision went away. " yeah " i said as i try to figure out what happen " can i have the plate " my grandma said " oh yeah , sorry" I said as i gave her the plate . I sat down at the table with my food " grandma , I going to go outside and have a look around to get to know the place better " i said as i finish my food and put the plate in the sink " okay, just be careful " she said as i walked out of the room . I headed back upstairs to my bedroom and i went to my dresser . I got out my gray tank-top , blue jeans and my brown sandals . After i got dress me and Snow headed outside. When we got in the woods snow started to bark at the sky and I look up at the sky and there was the angel I saw in the vision . Then all of a sudden I heard a gun shot and then the Angel fell down in my direction . I ran over to the Angel and I hear a voice that told me to back away from the Angel . I turn around and there was the guy who shot the Angel down and he was pointing the gun at me . I put my hands up and all of sudden the guy was thrown back . After I did that I felt a hand on my arm and when I turned around the Angel was standing and he told me to get behind him . I did what he said , and the guy got up and aimed the gun at me.  The angel was telling the guy to put the gun down . The next thing I did was I started running with snow beside me and I hear the Angel guy telling me to stop and then I hear a big thud . I turn around and the guy with the gun was on the ground and the Angel was gone . I turn back around and started back running to my jeep . I was about to get my jeep until I trip over a rock and I fell to the ground. I sat up to see if I had a cut and then I hear a voice . I turn to see who was talking an there stood the Angel " are you hurt " he said as he walk toward me " I just got a little cut I will be fine " I said as I backed up against a tree " I'm not going to hurt you " he said " why are you here " I asked as he helped me up " I'm here to protect you because you are the only one who can help a town called midnight " he said as he help me up " why me " i asked as we walked to my jeep " because you are a child of a angel and a demon and you're destined to help us " he said as we got in the jeep and we headed to my grandma house . " names Joe Strong " he said as he put out his hand for me to shake " I'm Carina winters " I said as I shook his hand. " when do I have to go to midnight " I ask as I turn off the jeep and headed to the house " we leave tomorrow " he said . When we got in house I heard my grandma called my name " Carina , where have you been " she said as she enter the living room and then she saw joe sitting on the chair . She look at him " is it time for her to go to midnight " she said " wait , you know" I said as I went in the kitchen to clean my cut . i heard footsteps behind me and I turn around and there stood Joe " here , let me " he said as he took the wet napkin . I got on the counter and he started cleaning my cut. " so back to your question about how much i know " my grandma said " okay" I said . " your mom was an angel who fell in love with an demon and they had you , but they knew if the other angels or demons knew about you they will kill you " she said . " is that what happen to them , they were killed" I asked as joe finish cleaning my cut " yes " she said . " are you going to be okay " ask joe as he helped me down from the counter " yea , I just need a min" i said as i headed outside .

Joe pov.

I watched as Carina ran outside and then her grandma started talking to me . " she needs you and you need her, so can you protect her " she said " yes , I will protect her" I said .I started to walk to the door when her grandma said " also, tell Lemuel to look out for her to and tell him I said hello " . " I will " I said and then I heard screaming and I ran out of the house . There was Carina on the ground crying holding her knees.

" What happen" I said as I put my coat around her " I had a vision with this angel finding me and hurting you" carina said as her and joe walked back to the house " carina, are you okay " my grandma said and then she look at joe " she got a vision" said joe. " I going to take a shower and go to bed " she said as she gave me my coat back and head upstairs.

Carina pov:

After i got out the shower , i got ready for bed when , there was a knock on my door and my grandma enter " I brought you some coco she said. " your mother would be scared of her visions and I would bring her coco and it would help her sleep" my grandma said

"hey , grandma what did my mom look like " I can give you a picture of her when she pregnant with you in the morning before you leave " she said as she kiss my head . Before she left my room snow came running in the room " come on snow " I said as she jump on my bed " night carina " she said . " night gram " I said as she closed the door.

Carina nightmare:
I was walking in a town and then the town started to burn . Then I heard people screaming and they were running to get away from the flames . I can to a four way stop light and there were a person laying on the ground . I walked a little close to see what it is and it was joe . He had burns on his arms and there was a stab wound on his chest.

I scream and then I woke up with a wet face. I wipe my tears away and pull the blankets away . I got out of bed and headed to the guest room were, joe was okay. I slowly open the door
and joe rolled over to were I was " what's wrong " he said " bad nightmare " I said. " come here " he said as he slide over . I walked over and got in bed beside him . " carina , can I asked you something " he asked " yeah " I said as I started feeling sleepy " when you had nightmares did your grandma let you sleep with her " he ask " yeah" I said before I fell asleep .

Joe pov :
Carina finally went to sleep, she told me about her nightmare and she felt safe with me . I look out the window and I drifted off to sleep.
