I heard a crumble of leaves breaking swiftly. It came closer and closer and I held Lizzy in my lap. The strangers told me it was okay, but I went out looking for the sound. The birds chirped round my head as I saw my mother. She was crying and her clothes were splattered with mud. She came running up to me and hugged me. "I am so sorry! I don't know why I did that, I have never been mad at you like that before, where did you stay?" she cried. "Mum, it's okay, I stayed with a man and woman. They were nice. Come meet them." I said.
We wondered back to the strangers and I introduced mum."Hi, Thank you for keeping my daughter safe. I'm Julie." said mum. "Nice to meet you, the way your daughter explained what happened I knew you would come around." Said the woman. "We have had plenty of kids stay with us from there parents, you know, accidentally getting too mad." The man exclaimed. "Hey, I was wondering if you two would like to come to our place and have some tea?" Asked mum. "We have never been out of this wood, that would be lovely!" Said the woman.
