Michael:
You have always been the black sheep of the family. You never really fit in with them, you didn’t even look like them. You had tried your best to fit in with your family but after seventeen years of it, it was pretty pointless. No matter how many times your mother would reassure you that you weren’t the single one out, you were never convinced. You knew your family loved you, but they just had a weird way of showing it. Michael has met your family at Christmas and they included him in everything so he didn’t really see what you would be sad about. You were currently on your way to your cousins university for her graduation with Michael in the passenger seat. You had been blasting My Chemical Romance and Green Day your whole way there so you could hear Michael sing along to calm your nerves. You had arrived and pulled into the parking lot seeing your mother and father waiting at the door for you. You father walked up to you while your mother walked up to Michael, they hugged the each of you and then switched. Your parents had loved Michael for they weren’t the type to judge on appearance, so they didn’t assume he was some crazy punk rocker from his hair the first time they met him. Your father had actually joked that he was considering dying his hair with a black streak since he had grown out his grey hair. Michael and you had walked in hand and hand with your mother and father behind you two. You had made it up to your seats and put on the usual fake smile to say hellos. Not once had someone asked how your day was or even complemented your outfit which you had worked hard on today considering your cousins always dressed so nice. You straightened out your dress taking a seat next to Michael lacing your hands with his. You had heard the annoying voice of your cousins girlfriend that had taken any small spotlight you had before she came into the picture. Your family loved her, she was supposedly a model. Sometimes you considered your own parents loved her more than you. You didnt notice your hand tightening around Michaels until he whispered in your ear a small ow with a quiet giggle after. You gasped and looked at him with your mouth slightly open and sad eyes about to say sorry, “Dont even think about saying that S word y/n.” He rose and eyebrow at you smirking knowing you too well. You gave him a side smile as he took your hand back into his again rubbing his thumb over the back of your hand letting you know he was there. As the ceremony ended your family got up making their way outside and Michael and you followed close behind laughing about the monotone speaker who jokingly tried singing. You had recorded him and Michael and you were currently sending it to the boys saying, ‘Guys I think we found our next duet’ You had gotten outside and stood on your tippy toes boosting yourself on Michaels shoulders a bit trying to find your family. You had finally found them in the corner taking pictures with your cousin. You had gotten next to your family and one of your cousins turned to you asking you to take a picture of her with the graduate. You didn’t oblige since it was her sister and your favorite cousin. After you had taken numerous pictures you had decided it was your turn to take a picture with your cousin but before you could your cousins girlfriend, Madison, stepped in to take a picture with the graduate. “Y/n an you take the picture for me?” Your hands started shaking but you agreed anyways, “Aw my favorite person! You’re practically part of the family now!” the graduate said to Madison. You felt tears in your eyes but you took a deep breath not wanting to take away from your cousins graduation. “Thanks I’m so happy for you!” Madison said overly happily. “Uhm, here you go, I took two just incase.” You pushed a smile through. “Hey can I get a picture real quick love?” but the graduate didn’t hear you as she was too busy talking to Madison. “Hun we should get everybody to the dinner before it gets packed.” You had heard your Aunt say. The restaurant was just across the street and you were all planing on walking. “Ok I’m gonna stop by my dorm and drop off somethings, come on Madison.” you felt everything in your body drain as you heard those words. You hadn’t even got to ay congrats or hi to the graduate and she just walked by you as if you were invisible. “Y/n are you ok?” You felt Michael behind you. “Yeah I’m fine, come n lets go to the diner.” You said quickly turning around but running into Michaels chest, he put his hands on your upper arms and looked at you sadly as you looked at your feet. “Y/n everybody’s already at the diner. They left about five minutes ago, I was in the bathroom and I walked out to see you zoned out. What happened?” Michael looked so concerned as he had never seen you like this, you quickly went straight into his arms and just started crying. “They left? Did they even notice I wasn’t with them? O course not! I’m not Madison so why would they fucking care!” You were balling now and you were sure Michaels shirt had black stains on it but at the moment you were so broken you didnt’t care. For the first time you didn’t care about anything but you cared about everything, you were shaking hard as you felt Michael tighten his grip to stable you. “come on I need to get you to the hotel. I’m not letting someone see that they have hurt my girl so badly.” You shook your head no, “I can;t Michael! This night shouldn’t be about me, and I dont want to ruin it for the graduate.” Michael rubbed your back in circles as he took a deep breath, “Y/n I dont give a fuck who this is for. I dont care if its for the president, queen, prime minister, Blink-182, or even the boys. Nobody deserves to be put through the pain you have been put through and then see the out come. You shouldn’t have to hide this pain for their satisfaction. Come on I texted your mom telling her that we had to go to the hotel because Luke had gotten into some trouble and needed our help. And I texted the boys saying to get as much junk food and sad movies as they can. I’m not letting you sit in that diner to hide your feeling the whole fucking time. You dont deserve that pain, I wont let you go through that. You’re way to kind to be put through that, plus I’m sure all that hiding gives you wrinkles and my baby is to pretty for wrinkles.” he laughed out the last part causing you to giggle from his laugh. He bent down kissing your forehead and wiped your tears, he put an arm around you while grabbing the keys and leading you to the car and then to a place where you will be loved no matter what you do.
Luke:
You had never had your true parents. Your father left three months after you were born and your mother was in and out of your life until you were sixteen and then she was completely gone leaving you with your grandparents. You had never had a parental figure in your life so it was difficult to understand why Liz was always worried about Luke. You never had someone worry about you like a mother would for their child. You were at Luke’s house one day and Liz had asked you to help cook and you didn’t mind at all. “Y/n, do you mind if I ask you a serious question?” Liz asked cutting up some onions. Luke had been opening jars that Liz and you were a bit to weak for. You looked up at Liz with furrowed eyebrows. “How come your parents dont mind that you’re always over here? I mean I understand you are responsible and I’m sure they see that, but love they don’t even care that the first night you had gotten a little to drunk with the boys that you crashed over here.” You had stopped cutting the bell peppers and stared blankly and the cutting board in front of you. Luke quickly swopped in knowing your situation, “Mom they understand since y/n and I have been together for three years and-” but you had cut him short telling him straight up “Shut up Luke, she deserves to know. She’s your mother and she doesn’t deserve lame made up excuses that I have used for years.” you said a little harsh which took Liz and Luke by surprise as you had never really snapped at anybody. You sighed setting the knife down and leaned on the islands with both sides on either side of you and your head down staring at the ground. “See uhm, I don’t really have parents. I’m a bastered child of a teenage pregnancy. Both my parents found a significant other and left me with my grandparents. And they are just to old to really care.” You had tears going down your face as you were scared Liz would change her mind about you. “Oh y/n” Liz said setting down the knife and making her way over to you. “I didn’t want to tell you because the last boyfriend I had, his mother made me leave and made him dump me afraid I would inherit my families traits” You felt someone take you into their arms and you saw the long blonde hair recognizing it as Liz’s. “Well I would never make Luke dump you for you are the first girlfriend I actually like of his.” she reassured you and pulled away wiping your tears. “And I want you to know y/n, if you ever need motherly advise I’m always here. And if it makes you feel better, only if you want and I’m sorry if I am over stepping any boundaries or walls, but you can always call me your mother if you like. You always have a place here. We all love you.” You were shocked to say the least, nobody has cared about you enough in a motherly way like Liz does. “Mom I dont think shes very comfortable-” but again you cut off your beloved boyfriend. “Thanks, mom.” Liz had coughed to hold back a cry but she couldn’t and she took you in for a hug. “Luke you join this hug before I ground you.” You heard Luke’s small laugh and you felt him wrap his arms around your waist and kiss the back of your neck. “Oh sorry sad moment I’ll just leave.” You heard Luke’s older brother say, “Wait,” You heard his heels turn, “GUYS FAMILY GROUP HUG!” You heard another pair of feet run down the stairs and one come out of the study and soon you were in the middle of a bunch of tall Hemmings. “You guys make me feel so short!” You giggled in the middle, “Welcome to my world.” Liz laughed out. You were so happy, you were part of a family that loved you. You had a family now, and this one wouldn’t give up on you.
