Have you lost anyone close to you?
How did you lose them?
Okay, so that's two questions but still. I'm curious. And if it's too personal, you don't have to tell me:)

"Lyra!" My aunt Julie ran forward and hugged me. I gasped. Not because I was shocked that she was hugging me, but because of the amount of force she put into the hug. "I've missed you so much!"
"Hi Julie," Lucy walked into the room. Julie squealed and ran towards Lucy. Had she always had this much energy?
"Alright, girls," Mema said. "The real reason Julie is here is because she's going to be taking care of you for a couple of months. Your Papa and I are going back to Portugal. We leave tonight."
Wow, Mema, thanks for telling us sooner, I thought.
"How long will you be gone for?" Lucy asked.
"About five months," Papa replied. We stared at them.
"So you'll be missing our birthday's?" I asked, my voice breaking. They nodded sadly. What kind of grandparents would do that to their grandchildren right after they lost their parents?
We discussed a few more things and then Mema and Papa went to finish packing.
"So," Julie began, leading us to the tv room, "what do you guys want to do this weekend?"
"Well, my friend is coming over tonight," I said.
"And tomorrow we're going to Lyra's boyfriends house," Lucy smirked at me. I glared at her and blushed.
"Sam's not my boyfriend," I growled.
"But you want him to be."
"No I don't."
"Yes. Yes you do."
"No! I-"
"Girls!" Julie shouted. We stopped arguing. "Thank you. Now, tell me about this Sam."
"He's just a friend," I glared at Lucy again.
"A hot friend," Lucy added.
Before I had a chance to reply, my phone beeped. I unlocked it. It was a message from Mel.
Melly-Bear: I'm here =D
Lyrie-Poo: Come on in! =)
Melly-Bear: okay xD
"Honey! I'm home!" I heard Mel call.
"Melly-Bear!" I grinned.
"Lyrie-Poo!" She came into the tv room and smiled at all of us. "Hey Lucy."
"Hey Mel," Lucy greeted.
"You must be Julie," Mel walked forward and hugged Julie. Julie smiled.
"And I'm guessing you're Mel."
"Yip. The most amazing person in the world. I mean, have you seen how fabulous I am?"
"The best," I laughed.
"Well, I'm just going to leave you girls alone then," Julie said, getting up. I felt kinda bad. I mean, she was alone and everything and now she couldn't even spend time with the only family she had left.
"Wait," I stopped her. "Why don't you come hang out with us?"
She smiled widely. "You sure?"
I looked at Mel and Lucy, they nodded.
