Amineh
I had said my good byes to Alexa a couple of hours ago and also invited her for dinner tomorrow, Saturday night. The dinner part just slipped out and I couldn’t take it back after I seen the grateful look on her face.
I was now on my way home from work when I called my husband, hoping he was on break right now.
Ring, ring, ring.
“Hey mamas?” he said yelling into the phone.
“Geez babe, why are you so loud?” I asked.
“We’re actually in pursuit right now,” he yelled again.
Only my husband, “Let me just call you back babe. Love y-.”
“No wait!” he yelled interrupting me. “Its okay, D is holding the steering wheel while I talk.” He said as if it were no big deal.
Was he serious? “Micah Rehum Miller, you better be joking. I promise if you guys get hurt I’m killing you and D!” I yelled. Then realized that I was putting him in danger by talking on the phone, I hung up.
Not even 10 seconds later my phone started ringing. I knew it was Micah, I picked it up to yell at him again.
“Rehum-!”
“Babe, chill I was joking. You know I’m not the dumb one, that’s D’s job,” he said laughing.
I let out a sigh of relief. I’m so gullible sometimes.
“Geez sorry guys,” I said knowing I was on speaker. “babe don’t freaking scare me like that, geez.” I said.
“It’s okay baby girl, I know you wouldn’t want all this sexiness to go to waste,” Deston said jokingly.
“You’re right. That’s why you would have to be the first to go since there’s nothing sexy about you,” I retorted.
“Oh, you got jokes huh?” Deston said laughing. “I know you cant wait to leave this fool and get with all this goodness.”
I could only laugh at him, “Deston put my husband back on the phone,” I said laughing at his silly self.
“Alright, but this conversation isn’t over,” he said. I knew for a fact that he wasn’t joking. He always talked to me like this, but I had known him for about 7 years and he joked with everyone like this. Well, everyone except my sister, who he seemed to be way more shy around.
“Whats up though love?” my husband said breaking me from my thoughts.
“Nothing babe I just wanted to hear your voice before I had to head to school tonight. I miss you.”
“I miss you too babe. More than you know,” he said getting that serious tone in his voice.
It was already six, so I only had an hour to head to night school. I needed to go home, change into something more comfortable and walk our dog, Terminator
“Do you know what time you’ll be home tonight,” I asked hoping he would say eight so he could have dinner ready before I got home at nine.
I know I should be the one cooking dinner for my husband, but with our working schedule and my school schedule it definitely didn’t work like that. As far as I knew he didn’t mind and I loved him so much more for it. He had no problem doing some of the housework when I couldn’t or cooking dinner. Now, don’t get me wrong I cooked for my husband and cleaned every chance I got, but until I’m done with school it won’t be happening to often.
