When we got back to the hotel, I checked my phone and found that my mom had called me. Seven times. I am so dead. I clicked the redial button and she picked up immediately.

"Why the hell didn't you answer me?!" She yelled.

"I'm sorry. My phone was dead and I had to go buy a new charger since I left mine on the airplane." I lied. I had to lie since mom didn't know about me and Shawn. She would've just criticized our relationship like she did my last.

"Whatever. The news I have is too good to be ruined by a bad mood." She said, quickly changing her mood.

"News?" I asked.

"Yes. I got a call from Shawn," Oh great. "and he said that he had a surprise that would require you packing. He said that you weren't going to the resort, so don't get your hopes up thinking that that's what you're packing for."

"Oh. Okay? I'll pack tomorrow. I'm tired and in need of a good, hot shower." I said with a small yawn.

"Wait. Why didn't you tell me that you and Shawn were boyfriend and girlfriend?" She said with a calm tone.

"Mom this isn't 8th grade. We aren't just 'boyfriend and girlfriend'. We're a couple." I said, slightly annoyed.

"Oh well. I'm glad you've found someone good. Don't let him treat you bad. If he does, Big Mama will get him." Mom said in a "threatening" tone. I laughed a little.

"Okay Big Mama. I love you, good night." I said into the phone, waiting to hang up so I could take a shower.

"Love you too, Katie." She hung up before I had the chance to.

I sighed and walked into the bathroom. I untied the knots of my bathing suit and watched the sand spill out of the material. I turned the water on and looked in the mirror to see how tan I'd gotten. My body had a nice tan going on; my freckles flourishing like crazy. My cheeks and shoulders were a little pink, so I rubbed aloe on the affected areas then stepped into the steamy shower. I was so used to the sea water that clean water felt kind of slimy, but I got over that feeling when I started washing myself.

After I was thoroughly clean, I put on some pajama shorts and a white tank. Flopping down on the bed, I texted Miranda.

"Im out of the shower so you can take one now. Are you staying at Aaron's?" I pressed send. Miranda replied quickly.

"Yeah but I'll be there in a few to shower." I typed a 'k' and knocked on Shawns adjourned door softly enough for him to hear if he was awake, but not loud enough to wake him if he was asleep.

"Come in." I heard him say.

I walked into the room and saw Shawn laying on his bed with some baggy pajama pants and no shirt. His hair was wet and slicked back. I climbed in next to him and layed my head on his chest.

"Thank you so much for today. It was amazing." I said, remembering all of the memories I had today.

"You're welcome. I thought you'd like a day off, you know?" He said after a couple seconds.

"Yeah I really needed one." I whispered, kissing his cheek. He stared at my lips, and I kissed his gently. He pulled me on top of him and I straddled his waist. He rubbed my back as I cupped his face.

"I think I want this tonight." I whispered cautiously. I didn't want to seem desperate, but I knew he wanted it too. I loved him, and I trusted him. I might not have been with him physically very long, but I talked to him a lot before I flew over to California.
