"Why do I have to go with you?" I complained as Aaron dragged me into Kay Jewellers.

"Because you're her best friend!" He said excitedly. I moaned as he bombarded the workers with questions. After 5 minutes of questioning, we walked over to a section in the rear of the store.

"And this is our diamond collection. Here you can see the chocolate diamonds, here you can see our colored diamonds, and here are our traditional clear diamonds. Please, take your time in choosing the right ring." The sales woman nodded and walked to another customer that had just walked in. She smiled and waved, welcoming the customer warmly.

"What is her favorite color?" Aaron asked me as he leaned towards the colored diamonds.

"Green," I answered. "But she wouldn't want a colored ring. She likes clear diamonds. Trust me." I explained. He smiled and patted me on the shoulder.

"See. I told you you'd be useful." He said gleefully. I rolled my eyes and peered at the rings.

"Miranda is the type of girl who doesn't like really tiny rings, but she also doesn't want to have her hand weighed down by a boulder on her finger. She likes things that are extravagant, but not too over the top." I informed Aaron. He nodded and skitted his gaze over the smaller rings and towards the ones in the middle. These diamonds we beautiful. They had square cuts, circular diamonds, and the traditional cut. "No square ones. She hates those."

"What about this one?" Aaron asked me after about 5 minutes of studying the small pieces of jewellery. I shook my head and he blew air out of his nostrils.

I inspected the section of rings until a certain diamond set caught my eye. It had 2 thin golden bands that twisted through each other. One of the bands was encrusted with tiny jewels that glimmered and sparkled. The larger band had a large diamond in the center; the gold part of the ring spiraled around the edges, holding the gem in place. In the circles made by the spirals, smaller diamonds rested. I called Aaron over to the ring and he looked at it with glee.

"This one! Oh my God, Katie. You're a live saver!" He exclaimed as he encompassed me in a suffocating hug.

"You're welcome. Now let go, please." I told him, prying his arms off of me. I smiled at him and called the sales woman back over.

"Have you found the right ring?" She asked politely. Aaron nodded.

"Yes ma'am. I'd like to buy this one." Aaron told her, pointing through the glass. She smiled.

"That is a wonderful choice. What size?" She asked.

"6." I told her when Aaron shot me a frightened gaze. He would be in trouble if I wasn't here to help. It thought to myself.

The polite woman nodded and gestured for us to sit in some chairs. We sat down and waited for the lady to come back with Miranda's ring. After a few minutes, she came out of a door behind the counter with a small box. She handed it to Aaron and walked over to the counter.

"Now for this specific ring, you need certain cleaning supplies. Will you be purchasing cleansing supplies also?" Aaron nodded. "Good. Now here is the soaking solution. Just follow the directions on the back. If you accidentally get this ring in any liquid or food, use this bottle with a cotton swab." She handed Aaron two bottles from under the counter. "You can purchase a lifetime warranty for only $29.99 extra with your purchase. The cleaning solutions are only $14.99 all together. If any of the diamonds fall out and get lost, or if you lose the ring, this warranty will cover the damages with no cost. Are you ready to pay?" The woman asked politely. He nodded and she gathered his purchases.
