Star's P.O.V
"Brother!" Nature ran up to him so quickly she slipped and fell into the stream.
Star tilted his head at her. "Nature?"
"YURP!" Nature climbed back up and shook her fur.
Star flicked one ear as the droplets sprayed onto him. "And you were going to say...?"
"OH OH OH I KNOW THIS ONE! I KNOW THIS ONE!" Nature tapped her chin. "GIMME A SECOND... I SWEAR I KNOW IT.. JUST LET ME THINK A BIT... OH! DADDYS HOME!"
"What?" Star looked at her, his voice deep with anger. All his calmness forgotten. If that excuse for a Pokémon lays one hand on my friends I swear I'll-
"YURP! C'MON LETS GO SAY HI!" Nature grabbed his paw and ran into the woods back towards the direction of home.
So he's near home? Then I'll gladly greet him with a shadow ball to his face... Star thought triggered. (😱 THINGS GETTING REAL)
Nature twitched her tail. "Aren't you excited?!" She looked as if she was about to jump up and down.
Star stopped beside her and turned his head in her direction. "Nature?"
"Yuuuurp?!"
"You're... seriously excited about this?"
"Why wouldn't I be?" Nature did a derp face.
"Why wouldn't you be?" Star frowned at her. "You must've missed the part where he killed our own mother?" Star turned his head and kept walking forward. "He might be after us next for all we know. Why else would he track us down?"
"Because he loves us?" Nature tilted her head with crossed eyes and bounced after him.
"Pfft." Star didn't look back at her. "Love isn't the word I would use for Ruben. But, since we evolved. He might not recognize us... hopefully." He flicked his tail in worry. What if he harmed the others? Star would never trust Ruben again. After what he did to him, and what he did to Ruby.
"IGHT THEN. Then my name shall be... MOTHER NATURE!" Nature bounced.
"Something a little less obvious would help..." Star paused as they reached the leafy entrance. "We're here... come on."
"ALRIGHTY BROTHER!"
Star padded slowly in and saw the others greeting Ruben, seeming to be doing it open-heartedly.
Star flicked one ear. He's pretending to be something he's not to earn their trust. So when he finds me and Nature, they will think it's not true what he did if they find out. He narrowed his eyes, anger rising in his chest. Classic.
Nature was the first to bound up to them. "SU WAZZUP BRUHS? WHOS THE NEWBIE?"
"Ah..." Ruben looked at her. "The one who isn't a disappointment. How are you, Nature?"
Nature did a derp face. "Well that back fired."
"What?" Cross looked at them, one eye brow raised.
Blossom tilted her head at them, her ears perked up with interest.
"Mmm..." Ruben said slowly and his gaze shifted towards Star. "And I can guess who this is... seems a little strange-" he said in a whisper, so only Star could hear. "A weak one like you turns into a Umbreon, eh?"
Star forced a snarl away from his face and kept his gaze away from him. If the others weren't here right now I swear Father...
"OKIE! EVERYONE MEET RUBEN! DIS IS ME AND STARS DAD!" Nature introduced, waving her tail towards Ruben.
"Dad?" The others blinked.
"Nice to meet you all," Ruben dipped his head holding a paw up to his chest respectively.
Don't trick them... Star thought as his tail lashed. "Well," he caught the others attention. "Dad, would you like some... father son time? You know, to catch up." He looked at him.
Ruben glared back at him, his gaze unreadable. "Of course! Why wouldn't I spend time with my favorite son?" He dipped his head again to the others. "May I be excused?"
"Yes, obviously!" Kim smiled, swaying her tail. "You two need some serious catching up time..."
"I don't like this..." Jewel grunted in a whisper.
"Hm." Ruben looked back and Star and flicked his ear to the stream. Star glared back and him and padded towards it, tail lashing.
Ruben dashed through the bushes and pulled to a halt beside him, about to speak but Star cut him off in rage. "WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?!"
Ruben looked at him, amused. "Ah... haven't seen that annoyed little pesty face in awhile. And I have a task." He lifted his paw.
Star studied him with a sharp gaze. "And that is?"
"You and Nature... I had to find you. So I can simply get my revenge."
"Revenge?" Star echoed. "What revenge? We didn't do anything! You destroyed our family, Ruben! Not us!"
"This has nothing to do with family, foolish little Umbreon. I have a small task with you and Nature." Ruben set his paw down. Star saw little bits of electricity starting to come off it, as if preparing for something.
Star tensed, ready to fight if he had to. Small? "I will not let you step towards Nature. Or my friends." Star glared at him, pushing his fear deep down.
"Hm..." Ruben lashed at Star quickly and pinned him. "You were saying?" He used Lightning Bolt up close to Star.
Star grunted as it hit his head wound. He kicked Ruben off him and sat back up, pushing the dizzy sight away.
He snarled at Ruben, anger edging along his fur.
Ruben smirked at his fury. "How funny..." he slowly started using Iron Tail, padding towards Star.
Star whipped around behind him, dodging the attack. Ruben seemed to predict this, he was quickly above Star and used a powerful thundershock on him, sending him to the ground, paralyzed.
Ruben laughed and held up a electro ball, holding it with his tail as he walked towards Star again. "Well it's nice to see you for the last time, Son."
"I. Am not. Your son." Star grunted through the pain.
Ruben smiled in joy. "Useless as ever... I'm pleased to see that you haven't changed... or, you haven't changed for that girl who gots her eye on you."
Star blinked, trying to look up at his father.
"Don't think I'm dumb." Ruben grunted. "And now... she's earned a place on the list."
The list... Star frowned. This is exactly what I predicted.
"Any last words?" Ruben asked in a mocking polite voice.
Star grunted as Ruben pinned him again. "How sad..." Ruben faked a frown. "Well have fun with the after life!" With a smirk of victory, The electro ball came down on Star.
Star felt painful electricity flooding down his veins. He screamed in pain and felt his body go numb. The vision around him slowly fading into darkness.
