It has been many days since the two new Eevees' were born. Nature sat on a tree branch above a cleared out, sandy spot, watching her brother and father train.

Star was thrown to the ground by Ruben's powerful paws.

He calls this 'training'? Nature thought with an unimpressed look.

Ruben stared down at his son. "Get up, runt."

"HAH. GET REKTED."

"Shut up, Nature."

"OKAY DADDY."

Star got to his paws, slowly. He sighed. "I've told you, sir. I can't live up to what you expect me to be." The Eevee looked at him. "Uhm- uh- maybe, I could be the brains? Since- I mean- you seem to have little of that..."

"ShOts fiRed." Nature screeched.

Ruben rolled his purple eyes and hit Star again, sending him further down and training field. "Nonsense. You can be a fighter with proper training."

"And proper training is abusing him?" Nature jumped down from her branch and walked over. "I'm preTTtTtTtY sure you're just making him fear you."

"Yes, that's also a point."

"Whatever." Nature held out a paw to her brother. He accepted the help and stood up.

"Thanks.." Star mumbled.

Ruben sat down. "Now then, your mother won't be back for a while. Nature, you want to go?"

"YeaH sO I cAn shOw oFf HoW muCh sTroNgEr I aM thEn StAr." Nature said sarcastically. "No, I don't wanna. You're just gonna whip my ass anyway."

"Where did you learn to cuss?" Star looked at Nature with a startled expression.

Nature shrugged. "I tuned into one of Daddy and Mommy's conversations the other day."

"Do what you want, Nature. I don't give a shit." Ruben said blankly.

"D-doEs thAt mEaN I cAn lEaVe thIs hEll hOlE I CaLl mY hOuSe?"

"No."

"FriCk."

As Nature stopped cussing, the pretty Vaporeon Ruby walked up with a grin.

"Hey, Star, Nature." Ruby nuzzled the two of them. "Having bonding time with your daddy?"

Nature and Star looked at eachother before giving sharp nods.

"Yes, it was fun." Star looked at his mom and made a believable, fake smile.

She blinked. "I'm gla-!" She was about to finish her sentence with enthusiasm, until she got a closer look at her kids.

Ruby gasped slightly. "Oh my goodness, you two look starved!"

"We're fin-" before the two could prevent her worry, she shook her head rapidly.

"No, no, no I should have not left you for this long. Ruben, why didn't you feed them?" Ruby shot a glare at him.

"Actually," Nature tuned in carelessly, "He did feed me. I just wouldn't take it because he wouldn't feed Star."

The clearing went silent.

Ruby inhaled. "Ruben, sweetie, we need to talk."

Ruben was meeting her eyes, his having a more calm tint. "It's be a pleasure."

"Please don't fight again." Nature frowned. Both of them saw the hurt in her eyes. Ruben didn't care, Ruby patted her with her tail.

"It'll be alright. Just going to settle some thing, okay? We'll be back in a bit. Don't cause any trouble, alright?" Ruby withdrew her tail and started to walk into the forest.

Ruben slowly stalked after him and called over his shoulder, "Star. You're in charge."

Star nodded obediently. "Y-yes, sir."

"OH COME THE FUCK ON." Nature sighed.

"RUBEN! YOU TAUGHT HER HOW THE SWEAR?"

"Both of us did."

Their parents voices faded into the distance to quickly before they could hear anything else.

Nature turned back to her brother. "That was fun."

Star shook himself, removing dust. "Oof, whatever you say." He looked at his leg which had a deep scar going across it. "Was trying to hide this from mom the whole time."

Nature stared. "I got you, bro." She ran off, quickly returning with cobwebs.

"How... did you know these actually work?" Star blinked, amazed Nature even had a brain.

Nature dabbed. "#WarriorcatsLogic."

Star raised his eyebrows, but was cutoff by a agonized scream, which was also soon cut off.

The two Eevees glanced at eachother.

"Did you hear that?" Star whispered, his tone prickling.

"It's Mom!" Nature leaped up and ran towards where her mother and father disappeared. Star was quickly behind her.

They glanced around wildly. Everything seemed peaceful. The sun was shining down and the trees swayed gently, but bushes blocked their view everywhere they looked.

"Where could she be?" Nature groaned.

Star shushed her and pricked his ears. "I don't hear anything..."

Tracking forward silently, they gradually got farther and farther from their home, and were lost. They both realized this.

"Greattt." Nature sat down. "You know, brother, maybe-" she looked to the side to pick on her brother, but he wasn't there. "Huh? Bro?" She glanced the other direction. "Huh... weird. IF YOU'RE THERE SAY ECHOOOOO."

There was a grunt in the distance, before the voice of Star called out,

"N-Nature, over here-"

"Nuh uh uh. Gotta day echo."

"The hec- Okay, echo."

"Better." Nature walked to her brothers voice, and quickly stopped.

Star was on the ground, bleeding from his sides.

Ruby was on the ground, motionless. Not even breathing, with a long, clean gash along her neck.

Ruben was standing tall, blood on his unsheathed claws, with a satisfied look.
